Mouth Filters...

There are certain things you don't say to a person. You can think them in your head all you want, but for them to come out of your mouth – in front of someone –noooooooooooo…..

Fire – as this woman will be called. Not because she was fired, because she wasn't, she totally gave her two weeks and finished them off. Her name will be Fire because she acted like one, single-handedly destroying things that were in her way. Intentional? A lot of people here think so. She had many enemies. There was actual cheering after she walked out the door last Friday.

Well, I worked with Fire three days a week, and I dreaded them. I work with two other people that I love, but Fire…oh my God.

Let me give you a quick story that happened just the day before Fire and I butted heads: Another co-worker and I were in the break room. She had heard me speaking Spanish to a client and commented on how she would have never in a million years have been able to understand what I was saying. I laughed. She asked me where I was from and I told her "Well, born in Puerto Rico, raised in NYC."  "Wow, that's funny because I don't pick up on any accents, New Yorkers usually have a distinct accent…" she said. "I learned very early on that in order to fit in, you have to speak clearly and with no accents, Spanish, NY or any other. I was taught to not let my self be distinguished by my accent." I said. Which is true, my mother went through- and still goes through a lot of shit because of her accent.

Nice enough conversation, right?

Well, the NEXT DAY Fire heard me speaking to a client, but I was speaking ENGLISH. "Where are you from?" She asked me. "New York." I said, I didn't feel like explaining anything at that moment. "No, which country?" I looked at her. "Here. My family is from Puerto Rico…" "That's what I thought, you have a very heavy Puertorican accent when you speak."

*Did you just hear tires screeching in your head?*

"I have a heavy accent? That's funny, I just had someone tell me that I had no accent."

I shut up. I was flooded with work I didn't want to chit-chat.

She waited a minute…then asked "Do people ever ask you if you're illegal?"

*more tires*

I looked at her and said "No, no one would ever dare ask someone else that kind of question."

I walked away from my work.

I spoke to another girl and asked her if she heard an accent when I speak, she laughed at me thinking I was joking. I told her the story. She suggested I go to HR. I shrugged. Daddy said the same thing. I shrugged again. The next day she gave her two week notice, so I didn't say a word. Why bother if she was leaving anyway, right?

It has actually become somewhat of a joke here now, if I say something to someone I excuse myself and say "I'm sorry if you can't understand me due to my heavy puertorican accent…" because I can laugh at it…but there are still certain things you JUST don't say…

NOW???

Is it okay to talk abut an ex-co-worker, because they quit? Especially since she infuriated me so much that it took everything in me to not punch her in the eye? Twice?

Let's take a poll-

I have a story to tell- she finished off her last two weeks this past Friday- is it okay to talk about her?

The "D" word

No one wants to hear it, no one wants to go through it. But sometimes it is inevitable. (IT"S NOT ME AND DADDY!)

Our friends, S & K, whom I have written about here before, have come to the end of the rope. It saddens me, Daddy and I introduced them but we never thought they would end up married with a child. But they did…and now they are talking about drawing up the papers soon. S tells us that they have been having problems for a while (we knew that, it was obvious, really.) but he said that all of a sudden she came to him and said "It's over."

I feel for them.

They are both great people…

The plague is still lurking in my house. But at least it's only coming out of one end (the bottom end) for both kids. Food is going in and staying in, and that's what I care about. I did call the doctor yesterday since we hit the one week mark for the plague, and I was getting kind of worried. The RN told me that the plague was running strong this year, and sometimes the mushy butt stays fro up to two weeks. TWO WEEKS? Of mushy butt? Bleeecccchhhhhh… that's something to look forward to, really, I love the midnight bursts my daughter has been giving me, makes the room smell nice and….

Oh who am I kidding? PLAGUE- GET THEE OUT OF MY HOUSE!!!!

Today looks like it may be a slowish day, I'm hoping to sneak in some reads, I really miss you guys.

What is Springtime without the PLAGUE???

Come on over, I'll bleach ya!

The plague has attacked my home. Thursday Ms. Diva threw up in her sleep. I woke up thinking she was just coughing but something made me check her. She was covered in it…and the poor thing didn't even wake up. Too bad I had to wake her up to get her cleaned. It was 1:30 a.m. Just as soon as I put the second set of pj's on her, up came some more. Fun. I camped out in the living room with her so that she could just puke on the floor and I could clean it easily. We didn't get back to sleep till 5:45.  Little Man went with Daddy to the sitter so he wouldn't catch it.

HA.

Saturday it hit Daddy and Little Man. Both of them were laid out with things coming very quickly out of both ends. (I'm sure Daddy will appreciate my sharing that with you.) As of yesterday, they could both eat again without worrying. Diva is better but her bottom is still kinda mushy, but only once a day, so that's okay…

The funny thing that I noticed while I was talking to Daddy was how we evolve as mothers. When Little Man had the plague for the very first time I cried every time he threw up and I was on the phone with the pediatrician every hour asking about pedialyte and dehydration and such things. The second time it hit, I was pregnant with Diva, I was throwing up right alongside Little Man. This time around (Little Man's third time and Diva's first time.) I just made sure the floor was clear of any toys and clothes before they leaned over. I had the mop set in hot water, the Ajax bottle next to it, and the bottle of Lysol handy.  I knew they wouldn't make it to the toilet so why bother making a longer trail for me to clean?

 How horrible is that?

*groan*

I hate that I can't write about work. Do you know how exciting this place would be if you guys knew what was going on everyday?

I actually saw a fellow co-worker on blogger the other day, I think she was just reading, though, but I'm not too sure. I really wouldn't want to tell her about mine, because then I wouldn't be able to talk freely about things knowing she would be reading…

I may have to ask her like I'm just curious, and see if she writes and see if she has been getting away with it for the past four years she's been here…

My home life is boring right now. Work is where the dirt is…

Magic Words

Sometimes people don't do anything to anyone else, and they get provoked anyway. Sometimes all you want to do is stay out of everyone's way and live your own life, and take care of what you have to take care of, and people still fuck with you.

I'm tired.

Daddy's sister is provoking me to the point that I envision myself jumping on her and kicking her face in. Bad, isn't it? I keep trying to ignore it, I keep trying to stay away, but she seeks me out.

There was almost an incident last night and if I hadn't left the house I would have pushed her down the stairs. It's horrible because she lives on the second floor of where I live, it's not like I can totally avoid her.

Daddy knows I'm trying so hard to stay away, he knows I don't say a word to her, and she still…

I'm tired.

Daddy said the magic words I've been dying to hear for so long…

"Let's move out."

He finally understands. What breaks my heart is that my MIL called me the other day, crying and asking me why Daddy said the things he said…I had no idea what she was talking about. She told me he had told the Bitch upstairs that he was going to move far away and they weren't going to be seeing him. At first it didn't click. Then it hit me like a ton of bricks…he's tired too. My MIL is not a bad person, I don't know why he would have said none of them were going to see us…so I asked Daddy where he planned on going that we weren't going to see her anymore…"Anywhere. Just far from here. Wanna move out of state?"

I wouldn't mind moving out of state, I just hate leaving everyone behind. Massachusetts isn't too far, neither is Connecticut…I'll probably look around there.

I'm tired.

GRRRRRRRR

I've found the word that is worse and more annoying than "No."

"Why?"

Oh. My. GOD. It's like fingernails on a chalkboard. At first I was answering him and telling him why…but then it started being asked after everything.

"Little Man, come in the room so we can get you dressed."

"Why?"

"Little Man, can you put this in the fridge, please."

"Why?"

"Good night, baby."

"Why?"

GRRRRR!!!!

Stop it! I hate it! Yeah, kids are curious and whatnot but this is just ridiculous!

Hate it hate it hate it hate it…

I will be the one to get struck by lightning

Awesome it transferred…I love this handwriting style. It's actually what my real handwriting is like. (If it's not really legible to you let me know…)

So my children are not baptized yet and I get a lot of shit about it from (who else???) MY MOTHER. She grew up in a family that the child had to be baptized within the first year of life. No if, ands or buts about it. My son is three and a half. My daughter in ten months old (today!) and I still have not gone to church to have them baptized. I'm evil. I'm going to burn in hell.

I have actually already gone to the church and spoken to the priest about getting them baptized and it looks like it will be done in May even though I am the evil incarnate and never attend church services.

But here's what gets me…I am not the religious type by far. I don't go to church. God and I have…an understanding let's say. I have had my time in church and things happened and I decided to stop going. I never stopped believing in God. I did yell and scream and blame God when the miscarriages happened, I doubted, don't we all? Don't we all have our issues with this higher power…?

The other day my mother sends me an e-mail about the baptisms, (I would copy and paste it but it's in Spanish) and at the end she said something along the lines of my son always being sick because he hasn't been baptized.

Here's where my issues come up- my son has no say over getting baptized, so why is he being punished with his allergies and his asthma and all his other crap if I'm the one who hasn't baptized him? Is he being punished for my lack of attendance in religious services?

She thinks that the higher powers do this to people who 'disobey', that they get punished.

Chalk this up to my incompetence as a mother.

Anybody got any points of view? I don't want an argument about religion here…I'm not trying to push buttons, but I'm curious to see what people think about this particular sitch.

Meanwhile there is no change on things with my aunt. Things are really not looking well. And I have no money to go out there for the funeral…

testing....again

I just want to see if this handwriting style transfers over….

fuckfuckfuckfuck

My aunt in Puerto Rico. She is this beautiful, loving, full-of-life woman who ended up with an asshole of a husband and three of the bestest children.

She is in a coma. The doctors put her into this coma so they could figure out why she is having seizures. They won't take her out of the coma. They don't think she will make it if they do.

Arrangements are being made for her mentally-challenged daughter and adopted grand-daughter (so that would make her her daughter, right?) to go live with another aunt of mine.

My mother's favorite sister, the one she was closest to growing up…she lived with her after the birth of all three of her children to help her out (this was before my mother even got married) and after moving to the US always went back every. single. summer to visit her.

She has diabetes (it runs in the family, most of the siblings have it) and she had to have both her legs cut off within the last five years.

There's something else they want to do, some kind of exploratory surgery to look in her heart…but the seizures are preventing them from doing that. My grandmother passed away during an exploratory heart surgery when I was five. History is trying to repeat it self. My mother says it's a good thing that they can't do the surgery…that way she won't go the way their mother did…but a cousin of mine that has been at the hospital says it's looking bad either way.

Fucking Shit.

It is almost time...

My son decided that he wanted to sleep on the futon all by himself last night. I had mixed feelings about this, as this boy has slept by my side for the past 3 years, ever since that fateful day he decided he didn't want to sleep in his crib at the tender age of 6 months old. So I put the Cartoon Network on for him, tucked him in and gave him his sippy while I washed Daddy's clothes. (Those gross things get their own special laundry time….frikkin car guys and their grease.) He wasn't even asleep yet and I was checking in on him every five minutes. Daddy had Diva in the room, trying (BEGGING) to get her to sleep. At some point he did fall asleep, and I took the sippy away and made sure the couch cushions were on the floor in case he fell or something. I was nervous. Laundry finished, Demon Diva still not asleep, I lay down next to Daddy and start asking "Should I just bring him in here?" "Do you think he will get scared if he wakes up and doesn't feel us next to him?" "He'll wake the baby if he wakes up crying." "Are you listening to me???"

At 11:30 the girl finally fell asleep, after much fighting. I got up for last call to the bathroom and as I was walking back to the room, shutting lights off behind me when I hear shuffling on the floor. I look back and there was my little man, rubbing his eyes and waiting for me to move out of his way so he can go to my bed.

I smiled at Daddy.

As much as I talk shit about wanting that boy outta my bed, I still felt funny about leaving him on the futon.

And then this morning when he kicked me in the ribs for the fourth time I wished he had stayed on the futon…

But this gave me a glimpse into the future, when we finally move and he gets his own room and bed, I know he'll be coming into our bed for a while before he sleeps on his own. I just hope it doesn't take too long.

*I do want to apologize for the junk that comes up under my posts. I forget to type the 'secret code' to stop that from showing up. When you blog from e-mail, there are certain things you're supposed to do to get your posts to look normal. I'm a loser and forget to do half the things…

Common Courtesy VS. Pure Evil

It's common courtesy to not block an entrance when you're stopped at a red light. A driveway, a gas station entrance, whatever, right?

Well, this morning I was coming out of a gas station, with my left turning signal on, but it was a green light for traffic so I waited for the light to turn red. I was inching out as the cars were coming to a stop, and there was room for me to come out. But there was this woman, this fucking bitch of a woman with a shiny red Saab who came FROM THE OTHER LANE to block me in the goddamn gas station. I flipped out. I was screaming at her, but my window was up and she didn't get to hear all the nice colorful things I was calling her. What's evil is that right after she blocked me in, she looked at me and kinda smirked. That's actually what prompted my tirade.

People are so stupid it's unbelievable!

Blahblahblah

We have two birthday parties in one day coming up. One is here, for Googlio and Skinny Bitch's son, (I can't link…sorry if you don't know who they are) and the other is for my best friend's twins, in CT. For some reason the timing on them is actually perfect enough that I don't have to pull my hair out from stress, because Baby Googlio's party is over two hours before the other one starts, which gives us enough time to make the hour-and-a-half trip to CT.

The other day my son asked me a question, which I can't even remember now just from sheer shock- whatever I answered him was not satisfactory and he replied by sighing then saying "Oh my Gosh!" I didn't have to look at him to know that he rolled his eyes. I didn't know what to say…

My daughter still doesn't have teeth. She's nine and a half months old and still smiles her toothless old lady smile. I can see the formation of the teeth, the white marks are there, but they won't break skin. Those teeth are pissing me off…I have the feeling they are what still keeps her getting up in the middle of the night.

I hear a ticking noise coming from my computer…is it going to blow up?

My mother= the reason I think I'm incompetent as a mother

I often wonder what the hell it is that goes through my mother's head…

Little Man was crying that he wanted to stay at Grandma's house all week, so Saturday night off he went to grandmother's house. I went to pick him up Sunday afternoon and brought Ms. Diva with me so my mother could see her. As soon as I took Diva's coat off, my mother says "Oh, I see you had a bath today…and they even washed your hair."

Um….duh? I give my children baths daily, if not then at least every other day. I kept my mouth shut, but then I noticed that when my mother picked Diva up, she looked at her a little closely. "She has a beauty mark on her neck?" My mother asked me. I wrinkled my eyebrows at her, "Yeah, mom, she's had that since she was born." The beauty mark is about the size of a pea, noticeable if you look closely as it's a little faded now. What my mother did next is what killed me. She ran her finger over my daughter's neck, Mary Poppin's with a white glove-style, checking to see if the beauty mark was DIRT. Wait for it…then she smelled her finger.

Are you fucking kidding me?

I had to ask… "Mother, why did you just do that?"

She noticed my voice…she laughed.

SHE LAUGHED.

"Just checking" she said.

WHAT?

WHHHAAAAAATTTTTT?

Checking to see if I was lying about A BEAUTY MARK? Checking to see if IT WAS DIRT? CHECKING TO SEE IF MY DAUGHTER'S NECK SMELLED FUNKY???

WTF???

The Splinter

Daddy had just left the house, I had just gotten out the shower when I started pulling the sheets away from Little Man so he could get up. He made his usual fuss, turning away from me, burying his face in the pillow. I gave him his sippy of milk, but he started crying. "What now?" I said in my mind, hoping it wasn't going to be one of those mornings where he just sat there and cried and wouldn't get dressed.

"What's the matter Little Man?"

"My foot hurts!" he wailed.

"Where?"

He took his feet out from under the blanket and pointed at the sole of his right foot. I grabbed it and saw the culprit…a small splinter. "How the hell…?"

I went for my tweezers.

At this point he was crying at the top of his lungs, he gets his dramatic side from me and he wanted everyone to know he was having a procedure done. Unfortunately his only audience was the baby, and she was standing in the crib smiling as she watched.

OH MY GOD the screaming as I tried to take that thing out, and I was only holding his foot, he wasn't even letting me go near him with the tweezers yet. "Little Man if you want the boo-boo to go away I have to take it out…" "NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! Mommy NOOOOOO! IT HURTS!" He was fully kicking and punching at me, anything to get me away.

Five full minutes before I could even get the tweezers near him. I got it out, him still screaming…I looked at it closely, it was a small hair. Daddy had cut his and Little Man's hair the night before and one of those stubborn little suckers that are so difficult to get off the floor with a broom and mop had somehow made its way into my son's foot. "Why didn't he complain about it last night???" I asked myself.

No matter.

"Wanna see?" I asked him, holding the tweezers out to him. He nods and comes closer. "Eeeewwwww," he says.

"Yeah, ewwwwwww."

I threw the tiny piece of hair in the garbage and went back into the room. He stands on the bed with his arms out. I go into the hug and as he wipes his nose on my shirt he says "Thank you for making my foot all better, Mommy."

I melted into a puddle.

Even with all the snot on my shirt that hug made everything better. This is what motherhood (and life for that matter) is about, huh? It has to hurt to feel better…

*GROAN*

I have no frikkin idea why all my text has turned PURPLE. Bear with  me, I will fix it....someday...

Nothing has changed...

I'm still as tired as can be. Last night Ms. Demon Diva child decided - AT TWO IN THE MORNING -  that she didn't need any more sleep. So I've been up since then. Daddy, too, because he's sick now and can't sleep when he hears me begging her to go to sleep.
"I don't need no stinkin' sleep MA!"

Grrrrrr.....

Ms. Beautiful Bikini helped me out to be able to blog from work via e-mail. Who'da thunk blogger had sneaky ways??? LOL!

(Sorry, Dennis, still no talk about tiny swimsuits here...)

Here’s an idea…
What if I wrote posts out and someone else (like one of you dearies) posted them for me? Would that work? Because I am not going to post from work (don’t pay attention to the fact that I’m doing it now…) since most of what I have to say originates there…but what do you think of the safety of e-mailing it to one of you? Is that still a problem? Would they check that way? I need to better understand these big companies…
I’ve been having a terrible horrible no good very bad WEEK and I need to share.
Let me know what you think.

*COUGH*COUGH*HAAAACK*COUGH*WHEEZE*

Feel like I have a hundred pound weight on my chest. Hurts to breathe. Hurts to talk. Can't answer the phone at work without hacking. Can't take day off because I'm saving my THREE sick days of the year for if I need them for my son, his sick days are worse than mine.
Anyone want to pretend to be me and answer the phones? Or better yet, pretend to be me with this damn maybe-bronchitis-but-haven't-gone-to-the-doctor-yet...

Tuesday, February 26, 2008

Question:

I'm probalby putting myself so at risk by logging in at work, but I have to ask a question:
in your opinion do you think I should write from work? I mean, I'm not 100% sure they actually have taps on the computers...and I can't write from home anymore. Now that I'm working full time my evening are packed with everything I used to do during the day...cooking cleaning, making sure my kids still know who I am...
so if I write from work, that means no goodies from work. No mention of work whatsoever. Which sucks in my opinion because there are goodies. LOL!
Help me out, either write from work and it's mostly boring mundane stuff or write every other week or so and try to fill it with the goodies that bring the boys (and girls HAHAH) to the yard... or was that milkshakes? I forget...

Whoa. Breaking news...

Daddy and I are going dancing. We're all dressed up, the kids are at the sitter (my mom!) and he hasn't complained ONCE.
*smile*

*wink wink*

LOL!

Tired? Naaaahhhhhh.......!

I like my job. That's all I have to say about that. I had went and bought turtle necks the day Pervert tried to undress me with his eyes (I still feel gross about that....*shudder*) and how funny is it that now that I'm wearing them, he doesn't even stop at my desk. He walks by and sends his salutation over his shoulder. I love it. I'm glad he does it.
I got a new car. Well, new-to-me. Finally got a four-door, my kids are comfortable getting in and out, and sitting. Daddy has gotten me new head lights, polished the car in and out (even though it was already super detailed and clean) he has plans to get new wheels for it. I'm just glad I have it. Pictures will come as soon as I find the camera my son has decided to hide on me...
Hope you all had a good romantic Valentines Day. Daddy and I went out to eat and then we ended up going to Old Navy and buying the kids a shitload of clothes because they had the winter clothes on sale 40% off. Nice and romantic right? Hey, we were happy.

The wonderful choices you have to make at 2am

About two weekends ago Daddy and I were sitting in the car, both kids asleep in the back, and we were actually having a nice quiet conversation. That's rare. I felt fine.

We ended up going to Friend's house for dinner. There was a boxing match on pay-per0view that we ordered and watched. I felt fine.

I went to the bathroom, there was no toilet paper left so I grabbed the baby's wipes for a quick fix. I felt fine.

We went home, and I started feeling like a pain in my stomach. We put the kids to bed, we laid down. I felt like I had to pee again. Nothing came out. I laid down again, still feeling like I had to pee. I went again, there was blood. I waited a while before even trying to wake Daddy. The pain was getting worse. There was more blood. At one-thirty I woke Daddy. I don't think he really woke up. At one thirty five I call my sister to meet me in the ER. I left everyone asleep at the house and drove myself to the ER with this unbearable pain, and still feeling so much pressure like I had been holding my urine for hours.

I get to the Er and they rush me in (better service than I ever had) and start taking vitals and history. Have you ever had a UTI? (no.) Guess what? Looks like you have one now!

Five hours and a strong ass dosage of antibiotics later, I went home with paperwork saying that I had a UTI and bladder infection. I gave it to myself. With the fucking WIPES. In just HOURs it turned that bad. Turns out they were scentd and my sensitive ass should NOT have used them. I threw them out as soon as I got home, because if they could do that to me God knows what they could do to my daughter.

Driving to the ER at two a.m is not fun. I think if a cop would have tried to pull me over we would have ended uo in a high speed chase, because my ass was NOT going to stop! LOL! Now I drink Cranberry juice like it's water...and it makes me have to go al the damn time. They laugh at me at work every time they see me get up.

Not knowing how to let go

I have a longish list of blogs on my sidebar. At one point I was reading them all every single day, keeping up with everyone's lives and following their ups and downs and in-betweens...
Then I lost my job and had my daughter. And I went on a hiatus...
When I came back I discovered that some of the blog owner's have erased(?) their blogs, or have just stopped writing. I have considered erasing them from my sidebar, and as I was adjusting things around here I almost did it. But then I thought "well, what if they come back? what if something is wrong? what if...what if... what if..."
So it led to me (obviously) not erasing any blogs, but with no other way to contact many of these people other than through their own blogs, i wonder if maybe I just should have erased them.

How do you decide who stays and goes on your sidebar?
blogger is stupid. i'm trying to fix all this but it keeps kicking me off. excuse the mess while i try to fix it.

can anybody tell me why the stupid title and description wont move over so they dont block my kids faces???

Jumbled Mess

  • Not sleeping. Very very tired.
  • Baby girl has not taken any more steps. She has tried but doesn't get anywhere but flat on her ass. It's cute to watch. She stands really well, though.
  • Was in the hospital with Little Man with another scary asthma attack. More roids, more pumps. No sleep.
  • My daughter will head butt you and laugh if you say ouch.
  • The roids make my son hyper. The albuterol makes my son super hyper. Mix those two medicines together...and no, they do not make him crash after a while, they never seem to wear off.

First Steps!

She took a step today! All by herself without holding on! Whoa- I thought Little Man walked fast at ninie months, she has him beat if she keeps walking, she's only 8 months!

Maybe NOT two weeks notice...

So I may not go to BTI.
Turns out that the position I had turned down before, the full time one with Curly Sue, is going to be open soon. The girl Curly Sue had hired, which is Hot Mess, is going to be fired. Curly Sue pulled me aside yesterday to tell me that Hot Mess is just not working out and she wanted to know if I was still interested in some extra hours. Curly Sue told me that she actually doesn't need anyone full time, so I would be doing part time in the afternoons, but it would be like full time to me since I would still working for Carebear and Lexus in the morning.
I like the company I workor, it wasn't like I was looking to leave because I didn't like them, it was just because we need the money. Which brings me to tell you that if you're not happy that I'm doing some ads again, I apologize. Daddy got cut down to 28 hours at work, and I'm still only doing 20. So until I get the extra hours, and Daddy gets back up to 40, you may be seeing some of those ads. Again, I'm sorry. Any little extra cash helps out, you know?
and noe- WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED TO YOUR BLOG???

Waiting to move...

We're going to move when we get our income tax return. Finally I can get away from his stupid sister and her childishness...finally I can have room to put the kids in their own room and be able to have my own room (okay, our room, whatever. I decorate it, it's mine dammit!) however I want it.
Little Man's allergy and asthma specialist tells me that it would be a good idea to have a ceiling fan installed where ever he sleeps so that the air can circulate. Without being able to get on certain sites at work, I am limited to what I look at. So I look around at sites to give me ideas as how to decorate.
I've found a site that has ceiling fans and I'm trying to figure out which one I want for the kid's room. So far it's between this fanimation fan, the one called Fargo. I know it's not a ceiling fan, but it would go nicely on a nightstand or a dresser. I just like the weird way it looks, it doesn't look like a contemporary fan.
We can also go with a more modern ceiling fan, but the looks of these make them look more like something I would put into a kitchen since they look like they go well with stainless steel. They do look like they would be easy to clean, though which is a good thing. Grab the duster and pass it once!
I fell in love with the hunter fans, two in particular, the Coronado and the Royal Palm. Something about them makes me think of being on a nice enclosed deck, with a sexy cabana boy waving some giant palm leaves at me with I sip on some margaritas.
Any opinions?

Let's take a vaca...

Turn into Calgon and TAKE ME AWAY!
LOL!
You know those commercials that say they can find you discount hotel prices and you can still stay at an awesome hotel...? Do you ever believe them? I never know what to think...
but I did see some stuff in Italy that if I were to ever go to Europe, I would look into it and hope that the commercials are for real.
There are deals for hotels in Italy, for when you just want general dealos and maybe just want to travel around.
Stay in a hotel in Milan, go to the jazz festivals that get the city rocking in November. Or go to the famous opera house, La Scala when they open their doors in December. Who wouldn't want to go to an authentic Italian Opera?
Find a hotel in Venice, drink in the culture. Buy some couture dresses, got o Fashion shows.
Or, the best one of all- stay in a hotel in Rome, the Eternal City, around Easter time so you can visit the Vatican when the Pope comes out to bless everyone. Visit the Colosseum, take in all the beautiful sights and monuments that u only read about in History books and see on the travel channel.
There are plenty of trains and bues to take you on tours around the cities. Beautiful, pleasant climates will make you enjoy your sty even more.

Technicalities and payments

Daddy and I once had a bad car accident where we had gotten hit by a drunk driver in the middle of the afternoon. Big lawsuit followed, dragging out for two years in court between the two insurance companies. It was pretty annoying, knowing we had the case in our hands but the other insurance company trying to find ways to make it look like the accident was somehow someway our fault. Yes- WE were the ones who took your client to a bar at one in the afternoon, WE were the ones who filled him with Coronas or Tequila shots, or whatever he was drunk on, and WE were the ones who put him behind the wheel and told him "Go! really fast! And hit a few people!"
We were lucky enough to get our settlement in one payment after everything was over. After the hospital and physical therapy bills we accumulated had been paid off, we weren't left with so much that they would have had to pay us in structured settlements. We were looking into websites anyway, to get our payment at once because we had decided that if we were going to get monthly or yearly payments, we didn't want it that way. We got details at sites like this that pretty much explain everything to you ut and dry.
When we daydream about winning the lottery, we always say that we will choose the large lump sum and take the 2% or whatever it is they leave you with...if not, we would just click here and sell our settlement, take the money and RUN!

Two Weeks Notice

I sent my resume and filled out an application to Big Time Insurance Company- can't say their name, you know how that goes. But their logo is the word "IF" in some commercials...and in others it's Snoopy. If you figured it out then you're awesome. If you didn't, just watch a few hours of t.v, one of their commercials is bound to pop up.
So BTI has 4 open full time positions at a very nice salary, paid training, bonuses for the stupidest things-but bonuses nontheless-, sick days, paid vacas, great benefits...a dream job.
I'm hoping to hear from them ASAP.
Bad thing is I'll be having to give my two weeks at the Lab, and I love it there but the money isn't cutting it. I've already spoken to a friend of mine who would love my job at the Lab, and if they allow me to find and train my own replacement then I'll bring her in to do my job.
But I've come to peace with it in my mind, the quitting thing. I'm not good at quitting... but I have a family to think about and a bank account that has seen more cobwebs than an abandoned warehouse.
*sigh*

Pictures of the accident

Nice huh? I gotta take the 'after' pics cause Daddy fixed all that already. There's just too much snow outside for me to be standing there...
These were taken when we were outside in the freezing cold changing the punctured tire.

So much for Break Time...

We were out with friends last night, just hanging out and we went to get something to eat. At some point we were driving and there was this car, I guess he was trying to make a U-turn or something, the idiot ended up pressing the gas (full throttle) and hit us. He took a chunk out of our car. The whole front driver side fender is smashed, the bumper has a chunk missing and is all discumbobulated, the light is smashed and the tire popped...
We're okay, I'm just glad the kids weren't in the car.
The guy at first was saying it wasn't his fault, but he soon realized that he shouldn't have been making a U-turn on that street, especially not gassing it when there are cars coming. Daddy's outside right now fixing the car, we can't drive the car the way it is right now. Fucking retards. I couldn't sleep last night. So my 'peaceful night's sleep without kids' went to hell.
And to top it off, my mother tells me that Little Man was answering her back all morning, getting smart with her. Nice. Another great habit to break him out of.

Break Time

The kids are sleeping at Grandma's tonight. Daddy and I want some alone time, so we may be going out. Even if we don't (since we still don't have any definite plans as of yet, and it's 9) we will still be home alone. We'll probably watch a movie we rented last night and never got to watch because one or both of the kids were fussing or being loud. People without children don't understand how needed this break is- people without children don't seem to understand that sometimes you need to be away from your children to maintain some sort of sanity. Tonight, Daddy and I needed this. I have this friend, we'll call her Flower, that I've been friends with since high school. One of the few real friends I have...you know the type that there is no such thing as arguments, no hard feelings over stupid stuff...well she's my sweetie. She is always offering to babysit one or the other of my rugrats and I always tell her I never want to bother her. I think I'm going to do a 'dry run' with the diva and see how she is with Flower, just so if Daddy and I decide to take this weekend get-away we're planning for Valentines Day I can leave the diva with her. Then my mother won't have to stay with both and go crazy.

My "After Holiday Celebration" (translation: we waited too long to make Christmas reservations and got stuck with a date that's too late to call a Holiday Party) for my job is coming up on the 26th. I'm debating whether or not to go...but there will be raffles and give-aways, and I hear that they aren't cheap with the give-aways so I might just go to see what I can win. Is that shallow of me? Oh, and the fact that it's at a fancy hotel where the food is semi-good and I know I won't starve...
I do need to find something to wear for this, as I was heavier last year and no fancy clothes in my closet fit me. Hmmm, shopping trip.

You would think I had OCD...all the damn sweeping I do

My son's godfather (my cousin) was here visiting from NYC with past week. My son loves him to death, he would wake up and go straight to the living room where Cuz was sleeping just to see if he was awake. He saw firsthand how it is to have two young kids, and I think I made him consider sterilization. I looked at his face every time I came into the living room with the broom, his eyes would be wide as hell. What made me laugh was that he was SURPRISED that I pick so much crap up from the floor with the dustpan, despite sweeping the floor about 25 times a day. Literally. He took to doing some sweeping when he saw I was doing something else. He would shake his head and say "I don't know how you do it." I would say "Me neither, man." Now he understands the dark circles, the gray hairs that are sprouting, the frustration, the clenched jaw. But he also understands the smiles, the hugs, the appreciation of the kisses not only from Little man but even the slobbery ones that the diva is learning to give. "Is it worth it?" he asked me once. "Hell yes." i said with out hesitation. Despite the fact that most of my days end with me wanting to cry, I still go to sleep only after squeezing them both and giving them a million kisses. And when they wake up I make sure they have the biggest smile on their faces before I let them out of the room. I love being a mother, even though there are days that i think "WHAT THE HELL DID I GET MYSELF INTOOOO?????" and I want to pull my hair out. Even though there are days that I have to remind myself that kids are kids...kids make messes...kids get dirty...kids make noise (not caring if you DO have a headache)...
I'm trying to work my mind out of this bullshit it put itself into. I'm trying to be better.
I'm trying to be better for them, I'm supposed to be their hero...

The morning after Cuz left, my son went into the living room and gasped. He came back into my room and says "Mommy- Cuz is not sleeping there!" "I know baby, he went home..." "Mommy, call Cuz so he can come back and play with me. And he has to tie my shoes." "He'll be back soon baby..."
Cuz asked us if he decided to move here, would we take him in. Daddy said yes, as long as we were in a bigger place. Why is it that my husband likes to take in strays?

Only the best online dating sites allowed.

Head Admin (way back when I was working there) was always single. She was constantly posting ads and viewing dating sites trying to find someone to share some time with. She ended up putting her profile on Match.com, and one of Daddy's friends saw her profile there and told us. Come to think of it, why the hell was he on that site if he is married??? Hmmmm, I have to bring that up to Daddy...
Anyway she was always asking me what is could be that she was doing wrong and why no one would stick around. I could never answer her, I'm not a dating expert. Daddy and I ended up together by chance...or fate...whatever it was that aligned the stars and whatnot.
So I figured that maybe she should try to read the advice that the Dating Site gives, since a lot of them post articles to help out with your dating life. They post articles about healthy dating tips and even show where you can find speed dating for Senior Citizens! (I don't know about you but I find that funny! And cute!)
She eventually ended up taking her profile off, because she ended up with one of the agents at our job. (Which was against job rules...but don't tell Bossman that!)
I'm personally glad that I never had to endure the dating sites, but have nothing but respect for anyone who does. You need a lot of patience to wait to find someone you mesh with, and you have to have patience with the annoying people you may end up with on the way to finding your 'one'.
If you've ever done the online dating site thing, tell me your story, I'd like to know if it worked out for you.

It's the damn mattress...

we figured out the reason my little diva is getting up so much at night. Her mattress (which used to be Little Man's, so I guess it's kind of old...) is bugging her. We had bought a water-proof semi-expensive mattress for Little Man, but we noticed it crinkled a lot when he moved around. Thinking back, maybe that's why he never wanted to sleep in it, either, because he called it quits for the crib around this same age...
What we did was fold a quilt down to the size of the crib and tucked it under so it would be like a cushion, and she has been sleeping. She still wakes up once to eat at about four, but she goes right back to sleep and stays asleep for the rest of the night without a peep.
So we're going to buy her a new mattress, because this crib is going to be turned into the toddler bed so we're at least going to use the mattress for a while. Any suggestions?
Which mattress did you use? Talk to me so don't go buy another shitty mattress...
And do they let you 'test drive' baby mattresses the way they do for big people mattresses??? Can we put her to sleep in the store and see how she does? LOL...

I turned into a whiny brat!

LOL! DAddy and I went to the mall with Friend and Big Guy (her husband) and the kids. The mall has three floors, and it is HUUUUGE. We did laps around the third and second floors, by the time we were getting to the first floor, I was DONE. The lack of sleep that I'm going through is killing me, my body gets so weak so quickly it's unbelievable. We came across these massage chair and i sat my ass down QUICK. Oh. My. GOD. I was in absolute heaven, the technique of the chairs was so realistic it felt like real hands. It imitated the kneading and compression that you would feel at a massage place. I kept changing the settings, changing the intensity on different parts of my back. I could have fallen asleep there.
It had to end sooner or later, and when it did I turned to Daddy and whined "I want one!" in my best Little Man impression.

Insomnia

I can't sleep. Help!
I have said since the day our daughter was born that I wanted her to sleep in her crib (which used to be Little Man's crib) and only in her crib. NOT MY BED. Little Man sleeps with us, and he sleeps Spread Eagle so I get smushed against Daddy and I end up not sleeping at all. (Our bed is shoved against the wall so he sleeps there, I sleep in the middle and Daddy sleeps falling off the edge of the bed.) Anyway, with her fussing at night all of a sudden, and both of us working and needing some kind of sleep, Daddy has been bringing her into our bed on his nights. (We alternate nights with her.) PISSED OFF! I actually wake up to whisper-yell to him to get her ass in that crib or I'm permanently moving my self to the futon in the living room. He ignores me. SO on my nights, after she falls back asleep and I put her in her crib she ends up waking up again in another hour or so. I DON'T WANT HER IN MY BED! Bad thing is, since our apartment is only one bedroom, I can't let her cry it out because then she'll wake up Little Man and getting a three year old back to sleep at 3 a.m........*groan* I can't wait till we move into a bigger place (hopefully this Spring!) so i can let her cry it out if I have to. And so I can start working on getting Little Man out of my bed, too.

Taking the easy way out?

I got an ab machine for Christmas, a gift from my mother. While Daddy joked ("What is she trying to say? Ha, ha, ha!") I called her that night after I used it for the first time to thank her and thank her.
While I am here, busting my ass (or abs!) trying to lose these fifteen/twenty pounds that I can't seem to get rid of, HOPING that I CAN get rid of them, I know that there are people that losing the weight-in most cases MORE weight- doesn't come so easy. No amount of exercise or dieting seems to help, so they need a better alternative. I've asked Daddy what he would think if I decided to get plastic surgery? I would travel to Beverly Hills, California to get the Star Treatment of Plastic Surgery.
Or what about my newly saggy boobies? Maybe a lift? Maybe an enhancement? I mean at 25 I don't think I should be lifting these things as much as I do, LOL! I probably wouldn't enhance them, I would most likely just get a lift. I never really had big boobage while I was growing up, I was a B at best, but my son's pregnancy gave me a nice full C. I was proud. My baby girl, on the other hand deflated my son's presents...so I would want them the way they looked after I had my son.
As for the people that cant just use an ab machine opt for a liposuction. Why not? Gets rid of the fat you want to get rid of anyway, just faster. I mean I wouldn't go to a third world country and get this done- but in California, where all the movie stars get it done on a daily business, I say go for it. Why not? If I had more than my twenty pounds to lose I would do it. Get me some Beverly Hills Plastic Surgery!

A list

  • Peanuts
  • Cashews
  • Hazlenuts
  • Walnuts
  • Soy
The list of my son's allergens. The allergens that are most likely causing the asthma and the eczema. The nuts, I already had an idea, but the soy? Where the hell did that come from? There is soy in like EVERYTHING! The allergist said that it was a mild allergy, a 1 on a scale of 1-6, but it's probably why the eczema and asthma are chronic...so cutting out the soy will probably make it better...

For all of you!

Be safe, have a great time if you're out, but don't call me to drive you home! LOL!

I'm only writing this to spite my sister

I bought the most un-nutritious, unhealthy, "no fruit juice" juices for my son because he wanted them and I forgot how to say no apparently.
It was a box of 30 or so...I don't know who thought to put those juices in bulk...
Anyhoo, today my son decided to drink like ten of those damned things. And they made him pee so much that his pee wasn't even coming out yellow anymore, just clear. Every time I emptied his potty I would laugh.
I have vowed to never buy these juices again.
Baby Crack...
I actually called my sister to tell her this because I knew she would laugh as hard as I did, and the first thing she asked me was "Are you going to blog about this?"
"You know what, " I said "Just because you asked me, I AM!"
So here you go Nailtec- I BLOGGED IT!

Totally unrelated side note: the next time my son (or my daughter when she's old enough) asks for a toy that says "some assembly required" I'm going to pinch them. I never did write about the nightmare of putting that stupid Blue Bike together did I??? And how it's been raining here since Christmas and the stupid thing is sitting in my dining room??? And how I think one of the washers is still missing from one of the tires??? (IF the tire falls off I'm suing Daddy!!!)

Stuff about my job

I've been sitting at Lexus's desk all week, since she went on vaca. (Lexus is the new name for the one I was going to call skinny, because she has a Lexus. Smart, huh?) So I've had internet access all week, but I didn't even go into blogger for fear that they would track the site and figure out crap that I don't want them to figure out...
But- here's some stuff:
  • I really, really REALLY have to stop putting my paper clip cup next to my coffee/hot chocolate cup. Because paper clips always end up in my drink and I get mad an have to throw it out.
  • The Complainer is a real pain in the ass. She is very high strung. People think that I need to relax, they need to meet her. The other day she couldn't find something and she was doing more circles around the office than actually looking for whatever it was. I sill want to trip her. She's been on vaca this week, too, it's been very quiet.
  • There's a person, we'll call her Hot Mess, because she is a HOT MESS. She was hired for the full time position I was offered and didn't take. Within two days, somehow someway I became her buddy. Without me even realizing it. Every time she comes to my dept. she has to stop at my desk and tell me her life story. What's worse, is I never ask her shit, she just comes up and starts "Oh, my God, Diana, did you know...blah blah blah blah blah..." And I stand there trapped because she is blocking any way for me to get out. She has all kinds of drama going on in her life (that I wish I didn't know about) she should see a therapist. I'm not one.
  • Carebear is nice, I've been working side-by-side with her all week (I'm usually with Lexus) and she hasn't bugged me yet. Even the valley girl talk still hasn't gotten to me...yet.
  • I haven't said anything about The Complainer to Lexus or Carebear because they've been working with her for a while and I don't want to look like an asshole if they are friends with her. It sucks having to keep my sarcastic ass comments about her to myself. I'm waiting for one of them to say something about her first...

GEE-ZUS thank God it's over

I couldn't be happier that this season is over. Well, almost, we hispanics have one more day of gift-giving on the 8th (or is it the 9th) of January, for Three Kings Day. But all this Holiday hustle and bustle, fighting in the stores for the last remote control car because your nephew HAS to have it...I'm so. glad. it's. over.
Daddy and I couldn't get out to shop until the 22nd and 23rd because our work schedules were all screwed up. We had to get my mother to babysit, and she gave us a lot of shit about it. So we set out to TRU- which was our code word for the damn toys-r-hell store in front of Little Man. What a frikkin nightmare. The shelves were bare in the most popular toy sections, the people were crabby and I wanted out almost as soon as we walked in. We got the boys everything they wanted (including the Blue Bike, which I have to remember to post pics of) and I swear you never saw anyone shop as fast as we did. The lines were longer than the store, all you saw was everyone with their credit cards out, some already needing to get a loan after spending so much this year...ready to rush to the first open register.
The kids are happy...now it's just time for the damn clean-up...all the old toys are going in the garbage or getting donated ASAP!!!!

What time is it? Why am I still awake???

Christmas for the kids this year is awesome. We are actually still at Friend's brother-in-law's...my son is really awake, playing with toys with the other rugrats. He and Demon Child are actually not fighting for once. The baby is passed out on Daddy's chest...I want to go home, but the kids are having so much fun. And Little Man still has a million other gifts to open tomorrow (today?) so imagine how excited he's going to be tomorrow (today???). I can't wait to see hi sface when he opens the bike. I think I'm more excited than when I was a kid. My plan is to put the box right in the middle of the kitchen so when he walks out of the room, it is the first thing he sees. (We don't have a tree in the house, house is way too small, and especially with The Baby being mobile, the tree would have been knocked over by now...) The bike makes me feel bad for everyone who got Little Man a gift...I think he's going to ignore everything else after he sees it. I hope he doesn't...but it's a feeling I have.
I just wanted to say I hope you all have a wonderful and safe Christmas (HOLIDAY!!! sorry...) with your families. Hopefully you find somewhere to put all the new junk...lol!

Spoiled Brats...lol!

Little Man is getting his damn blue 'bike'. He won Daddy's heart begging for it every single day this whole year. And we purchased it today, I'm going to wrap the monstrous box tonight while the boy is in his slumber and hope to get a shot of his face when he opens it. I doubt I'll get a picture, as he will already have put his hat and gloves on to go drive the shit outside. I told Daddy (right in the store) that I will NOT be outside with him every day (IT IS COLD OUT!) and since Daddy was the one who decided he was getting it for sure, HE will be outside with him. Daddy laughed. (and yes, i realize that the link is a black/red one, but the one we bought is blue. What are the chances that the stupid store had the color he wanted???) I can't wait to see his face, this is the first Christmas we can actually get him good gifts, let alone something he really wanted since he can ask for stuff now. The baby is getting spoiled, too...but she is stuck with whatever we FELT like getting her. Ha. Take that Diva Girl...hahaha.

We had our department Christmas Party and I ended up winning a gift card to Dunkin Doofus, and my Secret Santa gave me a teddy bear. A teddy bear. A TEDDY BEAR. They obviously put a lot of thought into it. I gave my person a pair of slippers with skulls on them and a matching purse because she is a gothic chick who loves that stuff. And she loved her gift.

I got a Christmas card from DD...her family is gorgeous. I'm a major asshole, my card for her is sitting on my table waiting for a picture of my kids to get printed BECAUSE I HAVEN'T PRINTED THEM...so DD, don't hate me, I haven't forgotten about the card exchange. Only at this point, my card is going to be a New Year's card...will it still count as participating???

I have crap to wrap and it's late...kisses.

Merry Christmas...

from our family to yours! Enjoy!

*SIGH*

My migraines are coming back. Could they be work related? Not that my job is stressing me, but that every time I work I get them. I know I'm losing lotsa sleep because my daughter has decided SHE doesn't want to sleep all night anymore. At two weeks old she was sleeping through the night, NO MORE! Now she actually gets up no less NO LESS!!! than three times a night... Daddy and I try to alternate nights, but sometimes he has to get up at 5 and I feel bad making him get up. She gets up sometimes and goes right to sleep after a bottle, but there are nights that she stays up. She tries to get to Daddy and Little Man and wake them up...and she stays up for an hour or so, falling asleep just ten minutes before my alarm goes off. It's torture. And of course when I get outta work I can't sleep because I have to try to clean and stuff...even though I do sometimes end up falling asleep with both of them.
There are certain things stressing me the hell out that I can't write about right now because Daddy is walking behind me back and forth and I know his eyes are travelling to the screen...not pertaining to him directly but having to with with stuff...
The babysitter is stressing me out. In just three short weeks that I have been working she has managed to reverse the potty training that I worked so fucking hard for. He's been in pull-ups everyday when I go get him, and she tells me of many accidents. But she doesn't tell him to go to the potty, she just gets lazy and gets a pull-up. And I'm upset about it. Daddy says we're getting a different sitter soon.
This snowstorm stressed me out. Many inches in a short amount of time, causing complete gridlock. I got home at 8 after getting out of work at one, Daddy got home at 10:30 and he got out at quarter to twelve. I was so worried that he would run out of gas and freeze, I was so relieved when he got home. (When I was stuck I wasn't with the kids thank God, but there were people that were stuck with their kids and the kids were hysterical and going potty on themselves...nightmare) Our state was not prepared for the storm, no one told us it was going to be so big and now there is a huge thing going on with people and the governor (because the gorvernor was out of state and didn't seem to understand what kind of situation we were in and didn't call for any emergency ANYTHING. We're expecting another storm tonight, let's see how that goes.
My head hurts right now. But my son is awake and watching Little Man (with the wayans) and I can't shut it off on him because he's actually quiet...
Sometimes I think I should have not gotten a job, sometimes I think I should have gotten a full-time job,
sometimes I just want to go away.

There's one!

An annoying person in my office.

The Complainer. There's one in every office, the person who doesn't shut up...EVER...and they're always complaining about something or other. Well, this one is a doozy! She is tall thin and blonde, and she turns her nose up to me every time she walks by me. One of these days I'll trip her...but i digress...
I sit at my desk and I can hear her complaints from three doors down. Usually I silently roll my eyes and keep doing my work, but today I actually listened because her story got more and more entertaining with every person she told. We had pretty bad ice storms last night and the roads were pretty bad, as well as our parking lot. When I came in at 9 she was telling someone how she almost slipped when she got out of her car this morning, but that she heard that Bob (not his real name, but I don't know him so I can't give him a legit nickname) had fallen when he got out of his car. The next person she told, she was sliding all over the parking lot and Bob sprained his back. The next person she told, she had fallen herself and she left Bob out of it completely.
Every day she talks about her cheerleader daughter and how she goes to her games and hates having to stand there for hours in the cold just because her daughter is a cheerleader...
Every day last week she was complaining about how she was bidding on a Coach purse on e-bay and someone kept out bidding her by a dollar. I tried to tell her that sometimes the person who posts things on e-bay does that so they can get more money, and she ignored me. I don't think she likes me very much.
So she's The Complainer.
Oh, yeah, and I have to change Skinny's name, i forgot I already have someone here with that name. So she will be....crap, i'm going to have to think of something else...

So much to say, so little time...!!!

I think I'll separate everything with bullets, it makes my train of thoughts go a little smoother...sometimes.
  • Slow down, you work too fast.

Yep, That's what I was told on Monday morning. Apparently by me finishing my work too fast I'm throwing every one else off, because when I finish my stuff I grab stuff off their desk to do and leave them with nothing. Should I say sorry for that? Because I have been...but it's true, when I work in the real estate office everything was expected in five minutes or less and working by myself for 11 realtors was challenging, but I did it. Now working for two girls (and for only half the day to boot) I feel like I'm doing nothing. It's funny. One of the girls leaves me at her desk to 'play' online. I've been doing major searches on amazon for the best deals for gifts. (You think I'm joking? Amazon loves me right now!)

  • I have their names

Two girls, one is Carebear because she is unusually happy (dippy?) all the damn time. It'll get annoying after awhile but for now it's okay. She even talks like a valley girl, where everything she says comes out like a question..."Hey, Diana? I found this really awesome shirt? and I think I wanna buy it?" you get it...can you picture her tossing her hair back and tilting her head to the side? She doesn't actually do that, but everytime I talk to her I picture it. The other is Skinny. That's her name, because I can't think of anything else to call her and I hate how unbelievably skinny she is. i hate her.

  • Completely Potty Trained!

I only had to beat him into submission before he finally got it...JOKING! Really, he is though. And I'm glad. He still gets a pull up for bed, but he doesn't even go in it. When he gets up in the morning he stumbles into the bathroom, rubbing the sleep out of his eyes with one hand and scratching himslef in typical male fashion with the other.

  • She's crawling!

YAY! That's it, time to put everything about three feet up because she's mobile and DANGEROUS, becasue unlike her brother when he was a baby, she touches everything she sees near her.

I know there are other things I wanted to talk about, but I hear the baby trying to get into stuff and I don't hear Daddy telling her to stop sooooooo....

It's SNOWING!

SNOW!!!!
I know most of you have already gotten the snow that's hitting us here on the East Coast right now, but my son is so excited...

The real point of this post was to tell you that my son finally had his date with my mother today. He slept over her house last night and they went to the movies this morning to watch the Bee movie. He actually sat through it. He behaved himself! And he can't wait to go see the Alvin and the Chipmunk movie, because my mother told me that when they gave the preview he got excited for that one, too. So now that I know he can calmly sit through a movie, I guess me and my son will be having Mommy-Son dates.
A funny that my mother told me: they stopped at Taco Bell in the food court to get a drink before the movie started, and my son wanted his own cup so my mother told him to ask the man behind the counter for a small cup. When little man said "excuse me..." the guy didn't look at him right away, so Little man said "EXCUSE ME LITTLE MAN, I need your attention. Can I have a small cup, PLEASE." The guy laughed as he gave my son the cup. Thing is, I actually call my son Little Man at home. Even when he was inutero I would call him that, it's just so funny that he would go and call someone out in the street Little Man to get his attention. These kids are too funny...

Tooth Sensitivity?

Biotene sent me a sample of their new toothpaste in the mail. In their insert they explained how the toothpaste is supposed to help you if you have sensitive teeth or gums, or if you experience dry mouth.
I myself don't suffer from any of the above, so I sent the toothpaste sample over to my mother. She looked at me like I was crazy when I told her "Hey, Mom, try this toothpaste and then tell me about it so i can tell the world." She still doesn't 'get' the blogging thing...lol.

She tried the toothpaste for about a week and told me that she likes it. She said it really does help with the dry mouth she often gets with her diabetes, and her brushing experience wasn't painful in the mornings. Compared to what she usually uses, I won't say the name but it starts with Senso and ends with dyne- which leaves her still feeling the dry mouth instead of helping her with it. She told me that the only thing she didn't like was that it didn't foam too much, and she felt like she was brushing with nothing, but when she finished brushing her teeth felt really smooth and clean. If she didn't hate taking pictures, i would have taken a picture of her sparkly whites. Aside from their sensitive toothpaste, Biotene also offers a great line of other products, including mouthwash, gum, and they even have products for children. My mother actually told me that when she went to the pharmacy the other day she checked to see if they carry the toothpaste so that she could continue to buy it after the sample is done. I had her take the photos of the toothpaste so you guys could see the label: .

BULLETS

  • I haven't-correction- WE haven't slept in a few days. Little Ms. Diva is teething and it seems that the teeth/gums are on a schedule to pulsate and torture my baby every. two. fucking. hours. So she wakes screaming...Daddy and I going to work in the morning has been oh-so-fun on three hours sleep. Tylenol and the stupid little pill things are not working. Whiskey is on the list of things to try. (I'm joking. Don't call the enforcements. Yet.)
  • Due to my non-sleep I've taken up drinking coffee at work. Well, it's two parts milk, one part coffee, and a pound of sugar. I don't DO coffee, the closest I get to coffee is a latte, and that mostly milk with a little espresso. So now I have coffee breath. Yuck.
  • The department calls conferences over the loud speaker. Today I thought I was hearing things when I heard "Conference at the coffee machine in ten minutes." I didn't think I had actually heard that correctly, so I thought nothing of it. Twelve minutes later when I had to take some papers across the department, they were really standing around the coffee machine having a conference. I just laughed. I thought it was hilarious.
  • I'm so tired it isn't even funny.
  • There were other things I wanted to put here and now I can't remember them. Because I'm tired. Can someone come rock my daughter at night so we can get at least five hours of sleep? Because Daddy and I are taking turns, and it's wearing us both out. Can't let her cry it out because we only have one bedroom, and if she wakes Little Man up in the middle of the night I will kill myself.

loyalty or money?

what is more important?
a week into starting my new job i am faced with this decision to make. do i stay with the department that hired me or do i move on to another department that is offering me more money, but with it comes more, much more stress.
the head of the dept that is now hounding me, let's call her Curly Sue, cornered me today to offer me the position. she said she has been interviewing but doesn't like any of them. hmmmmm..... she told me she is offering two bucks more. but one of the girls i work for used to work for her- for three years- and she told me that curly sue is one of those bosses that dumps all her work on you and disappears on a three hour cigarette break. but i used to work in an office for eleven people all by myself, so i know i wouldn't mind the workload, really.
i told curly sue that i couldn't just leave the girls...so she said she would ask the head honcho if she could take me on part time, 1-6, after my current 9-1 shift, because she really wants me to work for her. she just doesn't know how the pay is going t
o work, she doesn't want to give me a pay cut, so most likely they would see if they could raise my pay for the first job.
i'm thinking that if things got too complicated they would end up giving me an ultimatum about where i want to be...and i dont know if i can decide that right now. i love the girls i work for now, but then there's the money...
talk to me, tell me how you would handle this.
