And yet, I never listen to the news...
Before I get off track- there was a news story the other night about people double and triple checking their travelers medical insurance. Apparently a lot of people are paying for insurance and it turns out they aren't covered for some reason or another if something happens. Fine print. Gotta love it. So I was watching the news story about the poor man and his family that went on vaca and one of his kids got hurt and the ER kept asking for insurance...long story short the man had to end up paying for everything out of pocket, which left them in super debt.
He mentioned a lot how he wished he had read the fine print on all the paperwork, because even the money he paid for the supposed insurance was non-refundable.
So, anyone taking vacations this year look into some short-term insurance, which they have individually or for full families...or even if you're going on a business trip there are even policies that cover corporate employees.
Me, being the nosey person I am started looking around for the agencies that cover travelers insurance, and this webite I've linked to has been one of the most informative and helpful sites I found. Easy to navigate, easy to understand their 'insurance talk'...look into it.

Progress?
Hmmmm.
Whatever her problem was it is over with, she saw the baby and fell in love because (according to her) the baby looks just like Daddy when he was a baby. So she even carried the baby, which she doesn't like to carry small babies she says it makes her nervous, but she wouldn't put my daughter down last night. The funny thing of it all was that my daughter loved her, she kept smiling up at her and she wouldn't go to sleep as long as my MIL was holding her. Daddy was glad.
Now I can take all the gifts my MIL had sent out from under the crib. YES- I put everything she sent under the crib, unopened and really unlooked at. I was NOT going to put anything on my daughter from that woman until she stopped with her bullshit. Seems childish, huh? Us spanish folks are very superstitious, God only knows what kind of mal-de-ojo (evil-eye) my MIL could have bought the gifts with, and it would somehow affect my daughter.
But all is fine and dandy, until the next bit of drama occurs, that is.
Tomorrow will be my first day away from the baby, Daddy asked my mother to babysit so he can wisk me away to a romantic (???) day at the races in New Hampshire. My mother is excited to spend her first full day with her grandbaby...I'm going to be a total nutcase without her. Little Man is coming with us. I'm going to be a total nutcase with him.
Hahaha.

Can I still shop?
That's when I get to blog and check my e-mail because God knows the stupid computer my sister gave me only works when it wants to so...
those few times when both kids are napping...those few and far between days, i actually get to browse after checking my e-mail, you know, when I should be washing dishes or napping myself...hahaha.
Skinny Bitch just told me that Wally World closed down its photo studios...which is where I used to take Little Man for his seasonal photos. I'm upset because despite the fact that it was Walmart, the pictures never came out that bad looking. And they had patience when Little Man didn't want to sit still. Now i'm going to have to go to Target for pictures. I've already been searching for Target coupons, seeing as how I have to cut corners everywhere. I am beyond brokity-broke, but I still want to get nice pictures of the kids. Just becasue I'm broke doesn't mean I can't look for good deals to get what I want. Daddy is happy enough, seeing as how I won't empty the bank account that way.
Right now I'm rocking the baby in her car seat, she's too small for the bouncy seat and won't just stay in the crib because for some reason she's wiiiiiiide awake right now even though she should be asleep. I've got a mean headache, and I've already taken my headache medicine. I need sleep. Please, Baby, go to sleep!!!!!!!!

Happy Father's Day
I haven't felt the way I did a few days ago...since then. So, good, right?
I found it weird too that the docs had put me on BC pills even though I'm not allowed "to insert anything into my va-jay-jay for six weeks" but they said something about regulating my period, seeing as how they couldn't get an "exact estimate' (their words) on my daughter's gestational age, my period has always been out of wack, and they think the pills will get me all 'normal'. I figure if I end up tying my tubes, who cares if my periods are regular, right?
Today Daddy and I took Little Man to Fantasy Land with Friend and her family. The kids had a great time, and they didn't even throw a fit when it was time to go, because they were already worn out and ready to pass out. I wanted to get a picture with Daddy and Little Man, but Daddy hates pics and would watch me to see when I reached for the camera so he could duck out of the way. I'm going to get a pic of him with the kids sooner or later...I did get a pic of him and the baby 'dancing' but he would kill me if I posted it. He used to do it with Little Man, too, put the music on and dance around the living room and i caught him doing it with the baby (SHE NEEDS A NICKNAME!!! ANY SUGGESTIONS?) so i grabbed a pic...
I have such a migraine right now, all that fantasyland fun got to me. I think that's why my sentences aren't really making much sense. So HAPPY FATHER'S DAY to the men who check in here, hope your day was great. I'm off.
Over and out.

I broke down
Yesterday was a bad day for me. Daddy called me at three telling me that he was on his way home from work. "YAY!" was all I could think. "FINALLY!"
Four Thirty came around and still no sign of him. I called him, on the verge of tears..."Where are you?" It may have come out a little stronger than I intended, due to the immense stress I felt. "At work, Man Whore came to order some parts and we're here talking." "You said you were coming home two hours ago." Now I just sounded naggy, I heard it myself but couldn't stop it. "Diana, I'll be home soon. I'm leaving right now."
I threw my phone down and just started bawling like a child. My poor son left his movie to come ask me what was wrong and I felt like an asshole for even letting him see me this way. My son should never have to see me cry.
WHen Daddy walked through the door, I thought I had collected myself. I had washed my face, took a few deep breaths, and I figured it was just a moment of hormonal shift. (I was put on birth control pills until we decide if we want to tie my tubes or not. That's another story.) But I looked at him and I broke down again. "I want to get out of this house." was all I could say to him. He hugged me and started asking me questions.
Here is what we established: The baby decided she didn't want to sleep at all that day, so I was up, too.
Little Man still doesn't want to listen to me.
Little Man thankfully hasn't been jealous with the baby but he wants to help and thinks he is big enough to hold her and feed her and burp her so I'm constantly having to tell him to get away from her.
I can't go anywhere while he's at work, because he takes the car. (His got banged up, remember?)
So I lost it.
We decided to see how the next few days go, to see if it was just a momentary thing, and if I feel like that again that I would call the insurance myself and get a list of doc's, if not then I can wait two weeks to talk to my gyno, whose opinion and recommendations I trust. The insurance company...well, they are stupid and the last time I asked them for the number to a therapist they gave me the number to a rehab place. Hmmm...
So funny how Nita just commented on me accepting anyone's help...I would if anyone was offering. I've hinted to my sister to start taking Little Man for a few hours a week just to give me a break and no go. She isn't too good at hints, but I also don't want to start worrying people and losing it in front of them, too. My mother's knee has been bothering her (the doc says she has a gout) so her taking Little Man is kinda...ehhhh....
So I'm taking it one day at a time, that's all I can do.
I was okay today. She slept, Little Man listened a tiny bit...
still...
*sigh*
I think it's the pills.
Too late for me to find this...
Funny how today I saw these: residential column mailboxes, I bet a drunk driver wouldn't be able to wipe one of these out! I wish I could tell My Prince about it...but I haven't really spoken to anyone from the office since I left.
And it would have been nice if my boss had one of these commercial mailboxes, where each individual agent could have had their own box, then they wouldn't have been complaining to me if they didn't get their mail, it would have been the mailman's fault.
It's making me want to order a nice fancy mailbox for our house, so we could at least have something pretty there, seeing as how our bathroom ceiling is never going to be fixed and now I want something to compensate...even though a new bathroom ceiling would be preferred...
whatever.

Hazy
you like? (don't mind the retarded way my toes look here, I was trying to balance one foot out and balancing is NOT my forte...so my stupid big toe looks like it's coming off the sandal. I am NOT one of those chicks that puts on sandals that do not fit...) Yeah, and don't point out that I need some polish because I know...I've been trying to book a pedi with my special person, and the bitch (my sister, hehehe) is always booked when I have free time.Wednesday, June 06, 2007
Laughable...but not really.
- So the ceiling in my bathroom crashed down...into my bathroom. Nice huh? Selfish moved back in upstairs this past weekend after her drama a few months ago. She hired some half-priced contractors to re-do her kitchen and bathroom area (make the bathroom bigger and the kitchen smaller, she doesn't friggin' cook.) The thing is that the half-priced contractors are apparently half-assed workers, because besides the fact that they haven't been to the house to do any work since Thursday, they also left something leaking in her house that soaked my bathroom ceiling and sent the ceiling crashing. I hate being a renter, because i called Selfish to tell her and do you think they have come to fix anything? NO! And now I have dirty water leaking into my bathroom sink. It smells. Thank God we're planning on moving.
- So I was online searching for ways to aleviate Daddy's back pain without him having to be so doped up...You guys have to read the second paragraph at this site, it's hilarious. I went and told Daddy his pain is psychosomatic and he told me all my headaches were pshychosomatic. So I was all intrigued at the site and started surfing...and God almighty if I didn't laugh hard at some things that were written there! Like the hyperventalating dog...seriously??? Call your VET!!! I can't say that a lot of the questions are not legit and well, not funny, but that one got my sides to hurt. But wait- here's another funny one...someone wants to make a cake that requires an OVEN using a microwave. HMMMMMMM?????? While the back question was really helpful, as are others, those kill me.
- I think I need to think of better ideas to potty train my son. While he's peeing fine (with M&M's as a bribe of course) he still won't tell me when he has to poop. He's done it before (twice to be exact) but now he leaves it to me to discover it when he knocks me over with his stench. Ideas? Tips? Mind you the M&M's are only working for pee-pee, I've tried offering him more for poop but NOPE! Not having it!
And a gratuitous baby photo of Daddy making the baby smile and making me jealous:

Just stuff.
This picture is going to get enlarged and put on the living room. It's funny how he looks so much darker than her, but he's waaaaay lighter than her. She's getting to be Daddy's color, but her hands are still my color. (You know, the fish-belly yellow...LOL!)
I love the face she was making at him here. He had just kissed her and she made the face. I may start the blogging for money thing again, but I'm not sure if I'm going back to PPP, there's another one I found that's less commercialy (is that a word?) and they offer pretty good money. I need money. Unemployment is giving me $80 less than I was making at work, and with two kids and rent, we are cutting it close. Too close for my comfort.

Typing with one hand...
Sorry, I'm still a little excited.
Girls are totally different than boys. Little Man hardly slept, was always attached to the boobage, would instantly fuss if he even thought I was going to eat...this one (she doesn't have a nickname yet...) she eats, sleeps and poops. Literally. Yeah, I know she's only 16 days old and it'll change, but Little Man was set in his ways as soon as we were released from the hospital. She is already having a lot of awake time, which I'm trying to keep during the day so she can learn to sleep at night so I can keep my sanity. Or find it again. Whatever.
She smiles so much, mostly with her Daddy (bastard!) and he loves every second of it. We have a new bet going on whether she will say Mommy or Daddy first, just as we had with Little Man. I lost the bet with our son...the kid said Daddy first in a moment of anger while I was changing his stinky diaper. Yep, he cried "Daddy!" in that pitiful way only a child can do... I'm hoping she lets me win my money back.
We are looking for a new place to live, since our place is very very small and already getting uncomfortable with her arrival. Little Man is staying in the bed with us (ugh...) and she is sleeping in the crib. When we move we're planning on buying Little Man a nice Spidey bed so he can actually sleep in it (he's got an obbsession with the spidey guy right now.) She will keep the crib, which is still in brand spankin' new condition since Little Man only used it for a year.
I can't believe the person this little girl has brought out of my husband. From the second she was out it was like he changed, he is softer and more affectionate. We have never been touchy-feely people, we don't say "I love you" to eachother too often, we cuddle once in a while...but now he's doing all of that more. It's crazy. The commercial is right, having a baby changes everything. Little Man had an effect on him, too, just not to this extent.
She is healthy and strong so far. We have her two-week appointment tomorrow to check her weight and all that good stuff, and hopefully everything is still great. She is a strong eater, already going for four full ounces in one sitting, every four hours like clockwork. I can set a schedule by her, while with Little Man I couldn't do ANYTHING because he would take in a little milk here and a little there, never getting full and always needing to be fed. She's going to be a drama queen, we already know. Besides her dramatic and overwhelming entrance to our world, she cries funny when she's hungry. How mean are we that we watch her cry while we hold the bottle instead of just giving it to her...with a smile on our faces. Yeah, we're assholes. But what she does is she cries a little bit, stops to see if we're watching or if she sees the bottle coming, and she lets out this little scream...I can't describe it. It's like she's yelling at me already. And we laugh.
She is going to look like Daddy, we think. She is already darkening up. So she is going to look like him and act like me while Little Man looks like me and acts like Daddy. Little Daddy is in love, too I forgot to mention that last night. His mother is pissed (who cares really?) that he wants to come over all the time to play with Little Man and see his new baby sister.
Okay, my back hurts from sitting here like this, so I'm done. Don't want permanent back pain over here... But I think I will be able to post more often, so watch out now! More boring New-Mommy-Again stories and photos from that wonderful digital I still haven't broken...LOL!

Holy SHIT!!!!
I've been coming to Friend's house trying to log in non-stop with no success, I think blogger was mad at me for some reason.
I have so much to tell you guys...first of all I have someone to introduce you to...please don't hate me for not telling you sooner...
meet our daughter.

Let me give you a minute to let that sink in.
We have a daughter.
A beautiful little girl born the 18th of May, at 6 lbs. 2 oz.
fear and nerves and the fact that we didn't want to DEAL with the "Oh, I'm so sorry, Diana." and "These things happen..." and well, BULLSHIT!!!
There are so many reasons I didn't tell you guys, but none of them seem good enough now. And I regret it. But even as we were walking into L&D,(well, Daddy was walking and I was nearly at a crawl) with blood falling from my crotch and into a pool below me, I felt we were having another loss. In fact they TOLD me we were having a miscarraige. They were prepping me for a D&C until I told them I felt something come out of me...they lifted the blanket and HEY! Let's try giving her an ultrasound! And there was still a heartbeat. And then there was a whole arm shoved up my insides and "UPSTAIRS! She's NINE CENTIMETERS!" It was an episode of ER live and in person for us. The speeding through the halls on the gurny, the nurses screaming at people to get out of the way, me clutching my stomach because holy hell I was in pain and it was TOO SOON!!! She wasn't supposed to be here for another month and a half. Daddy's face as pale as I've ever seen him, and he's dark so it is freaky seeing him so pale. No time for meds, no epidural no morphine just PUSH NOW! was what I was told and I kept screaming at them to just kill me because IT HUUUUUURT! Daddy holding my hand and my leg and trying to comfort me and stay calm himself at the same time, twenty minutes later she came out. 7:40 p.m, but she didn't cry. The NICU team surrounded her, not letting us see her. We didn't even know that she was a girl for another twenty minutes, when her apgars finally went up to 9 (they started at 4).
The head NICU doc stayed with her in my room for an hour and a half, telling me he would probably have to take her and keep her for a week or so. Daddy not wanting to call anyone, because if she didn't make it I didn't want anyone near me. I didn't want to be comforted again. There is no comfort for loss. NONE. I wouldn't have been able to handle it again. When the doc decided she could stay with me instead of going to the NICU, Daddy went outside and started with the phonecalls. Can you believe that I have people angry at me? Like my MIL, who still has yet to come and see my daughter... I can't even wrap my mind around the fact that people can be angry at us for having this beautiful little girl, that they can be so shallow and stupid to be angry at me for having my miracle baby...my daughter.
My daughter.
Oh my GOD, I have a daughter.
Little Man is in love....
I'm in love. Daddy's in love, when he gets home from work he takes her and doesn't let me touch her. "She's Daddy's little girl." he says to me.
Her middle name is the word miracle in Portuguese, she's our miracle baby. Probably our last try...
Those of you reading this, don't be angry with me for not sharing this as soon as we found out...
I never had even told my bossman (who still won't talk to me mind you...I don't know if word got back to him yet about her...)
I have to go now...I want to check in with you guys and let you know I got to write a new post........

Does anyone else feel this way???
That you want to have a day just to yourself.
That you wish everyone would just leave you the fuck alone.
GOD!
Becoming a SAHM overnight has been...an adjustment to say the least. It is weird going from working full time and wanting to be with your kid to actually doing it. But I need a day off. I really do. It seems that this child of mine has developed some non-listening habits that I HATE. Today while Daddy was in the shower I yelled at my son because he didn't listen to me the first four times I asked him to stop doing something. So Daddy came out of the shower talking shit to me.
"Why do you have to yell?"
"Why can't he listen?"
"You don't have to yell Diana."
"Tell him to listen and I WON'T."
"Say things to him softly, he'll listen."
"Okay, stupid, if he had listened when I said it the first four times I wouldn't have had to yell."
I'm frustrated.
I feel helpless because the Unemployment has yet to arrive and I feel like whatever I clean in the house is fucked up five minutes later by this little monster. I can't win. It's ridiculous already.
I cried to Daddy the other day: "I have to find a job. I can't be like this."
"Just take advantage of any time you can take off...you won't be able to go to school if you get another job."
"But there's no money.."
"We're fine."
"But-"
"We. Are. Fine."
"but-"
"There's food in the fridge, gas in the cars, and we still pay rent. We are fine."
He's great. but I'm frustrated.
I need a day off.
When can I get a sick day?

Household Discoveries...
- I called them on their bullshit. The commercial shows them sticking a wire hanger into the bag and stretching it, and the bag not breaking at all. WELL. Ahem- I was taking the trash out and I put an empty cereal box (which in my eyes is way softer than a wire hanger) and the bag ripped. Granted, it didn't rip as much as a cheap-o garbage bag would have...but it ripped.
- This is the bestest smelling cleaner I own, and now I see why my mother bought it religiously. I mean, I bought it because I was used to using it when I lived with her...but now that it's my house and I clean with it (religiously, apparently that gets passed down too) I fully appreciate it. It's cool when I mopped the floor three days ago and I still smell the lavender. YES, there are other lavender cleaners out there, but do they smell that good after three days with a toddler in the house???
- I hate t.v court shows. And that's all they seem to give during the day.
- I can't even begin to count how many toy cars my son has. New rule for birthdays and Holidays: NO MORE CARS FOR MY SON.
See, I had more but my brain just farted...and I can't remember everything I wanted to write.
Eh, on to try to catch up with you guys...

Ice Cream Question
"So what kind do you want?"
"I want one of those big sugar cones with maple walnut and coconut. Maple Walnut on the bottom, please."
Daddy gives me a funny look. "What kind of combination is that?"
"What are you talking about?"
"Those two flavors don't even go together..."
My turn to give the funny look.
"Dude, I didn't know ice cream flavors were supposed to compliment eachother...just get the damn ice cream already!"
So my question for YOU: when you get more than one scoop of ice cream- do you get flavors that 'go together' or do you get crazy combos like me? Or do you just get boring vanilla soft serve like Daddy always does? (Unless it's chocolate dipped, I don't want vanilla, thank you!)
P.S- OTJ seems to have nominated me for some Blogger's Choice Thingy...but I have no idea what it is or what it's about or if I'm good enough to win...anyone want to enlighten me and give me some details? God knows my computer time is limited now...I need people to do the work for me.

Wow...
LOL!
You like me, you really like me...
Okay, so the end of week two as a new SAHM. And I am EXHAUSTED.
I thought coming home from an eight-hour day to start these duties was rough...but I seem to be more tired NOW. (WHY???)
I have always defended SAHM's, I used to be one way back when one paycheck was enough...but yesterday I got into such an argument with Friend's brother. (Not a real argument, but still...) He does landscaping, and yes while I see that that is tiring and all he really had the nerve to tell me that I don't do anything all day.
He doesn't have children.
I saw red as I turned my head to face him, and Friend just started to laugh...I asked him "Do you work after you clock out at the end of the day?" His answer was obviously NO. "Okay, buddy, I don't have a time clock. I am a MOTHER twenty four hours a fucking day, a wife twenty four hours a fucking day, you are a landscaper for ten hours, and then you can take a nap, go out and hang with friends..."
I went on and on.
I forgot how much work this motherhood/housewife thing is.
Still hasn't really kicked in yet, either, my eyes pop open at 6:30 every morning, even though the alarm clock has been changed to 8:30 for Daddy to get up for work. I lay in bed listening to the men in the bed breathe until the alarm goes off.
I'm tired now. I took a break and escaped, left the boys at home together (they are sleeping) and came to my sister's...
*sigh*
I got the book o' classes waiting on my dinner table to be looked at so I can register for classes, I keep looking at it with fear, haven't even opened it yet. I will. I will......soon...
This is crazy.
It' s late, i should go home.

Total Culture Shock
Ha, this SAHM thing has caught me totally off guard, you wouldn't even believe it. Going from working 40 hours a week to being with Little Man every single hour of every single day has been...interesting. It's like throwing someone in the middle of a swimming pool and saying "Here, swim."
Culture shock- neither of us is used to being around the other for too long and we're still getting used to it. The first day we sat at opposite sides of the room and stared at eachother while old school western music played in the backround and tumble weeds flew by.
I'm here at Friend's house, I had to hog her computer and come and say hi to ya'll that might still be peeking in here...
As for the sitch: the Bossman has somehow gotten pissed at me, I guess he feels I may have deliberately sabotaged my daycare so I wouldn't have to finish off the month and he won't even speak to me. Really. Today I went to pick up my last paycheck and drop off my set of keys and I brought the daycare letter with me that has DENIED stamped right on the front and left a copy on his desk.
So a few things I have learned while being a new SAHM:
- I can make a mean french toast. My son will actually ask for more...Chef Boy-ar-Diana.
- I am a fucking handyman! I caulked the tiles that were threatening to fall on top of us in the bathtub all by myself today...I actually had fun doing it. I was looking for more stuff to caulk. Little Man ended up with caulk in his hair, so we may have to shave his head because it wouldn't come out when I gave him a bath. (Maria, I can probably offer to help finish your bathroom if Bing doesn't...LOL!)
- Laundry is easy once you're all caught up. I used to look at the laundry piles with trepidation, and I used to tremble at the thought of having to do all of it...but man...having clean clothes all the time is awesome. Of course, now that I have time to do it all, the Hubby and the Child both seem to dirty everything they wear within five minutes.
I don't know what else I've learned. My mind has backtracked into two-year-old mode...I may have to go back to doing pay-per-bullshit, which I hate having to do but Unemployment is giving me less than what I was making and I don't want to end up having to cry at the bills again...
Well...until I can take over the computer again...
Wednesday, April 11, 2007
Ah, yes, that third thing...
Oh my God did it come yesterday. I swear the flood of tears that I shed yesterday should have left me dehydrated and shriveled in a corner...
No more daycare for Little Man.
Three weeks too soon.
Apparently they make you reapply for everything every six months, and I sent the paperwork in but the nice and incompetent social worker didn't process it in time, so my daycare coverage has been terminated. And since the daycare coverage ended A MONTH AGO the bill is up to $1,450...even with my payments, (hell I just dropped them $300 the other day) and the daycare says until the payment is made in full- IN FULL they can't take Little Man.
Three weeks too soon.
So now, even applying for the Unemployment tomorrow I'm going to end up having a gap between checks, and depending solely on Daddy's money and what we have saved in the bank. (Which unfortunately is not $1,400 or I would give it all to the daycare just to keep him for three more weeks.) So I didn't go to work today, and by the looks of it (because I have no one to stay with Little Man even for just these three weeks) I won't be going back...
Oh man this is when shit starts hitting the fan.

I'm not angry.
Here's the pic of my baby's face the day after he fell. The scratches on his lips were gone by the end of that day except for the bigger one on the bottom lip which ended up scabbing later on, the scratches on the forehead were already gone, the nose scab stayed a few more days, but it's gone now. I think the little booger picked at it, but it doesn't look like it's going to scar...And do you see the yellow mark on his forehead? Right over his left eyebrow? Yeah, that's another bruise. I had gone to my sister's job to get waxed and he tripped over the same stupid shadow as earlier and he hit his head on the counter. He cried for like a second, and it didn't end up swelling or turning purple so DCYF was not called on me for messing my kid's face up.
As for this job sitch, I'm not angry. Hence the title. I had said it before-that I would probably cheer instead of cry at losing this job. I will admit, after The Meeting, I was in a bit of shock, like the "oh, shit, this is really happening" shock...and I called Daddy but I didn't say anything over the phone. Then I called my mother, and that's when I actually GOT IT. I cried for like a second, but then as I walked out the door and the fresh air hit me, I realized this is a good thing. It really is. How many posts are dedicated to the stress and agony of this place? The funny (but really not) posts about the idiots here...the fact that I've been here going on two years and still making $9 with no hope for a raise...
I love my boss. Really, where else would I be able to work and be able to leave in the middle of the day because my son got sick, and the boss wouldn't get mad or hold it over my head for a month? Where else would I be able to work and call five minutes before I'm supposed to be at work and tell them I'm on my way to the ER with my husband and not get any shit for it? Where else would I be able to tell people on the phone to go fuck themselves over the phone when they are being assholes and my boss have my back? He is great....Real Estate is not. And this isn't what I want to do anyway, so what is the point of crying over it? I wouldn't be able to do R.E, I would kill people.
When I got home and talked to Daddy he was actually surprised that it was happening so quickly, but he said "Screw it." And it was done. I will be on the phone with Unemployment after lunch to get that ball rolling before we end up with too much of a gap between paychecks. I will be calling the Welfare Dept. to see about them covering ALL of Little Man's daycare so I can go to school...actually I have to call the Community College here and see if I can still register for summer courses because the deadline on their website says the 6th was the last day...
It will be okay.
I know it will be okay.
I hope it will be okay...

Closing Time...
Anyway, Bossman pulled me into the office for The Meeting.
THE MEETING.
The "I'm closing the office" Meeting that I've been waiting for.
Except...
EXCEPT that I thought he would be telling me to go to the Other Office. EXCEPT that that's not what happened...turns out things are so bad that he can't even afford to pay me right now, because so many of the agents are doing NO turnover, making NO money...so that leaves 30 some odd agents all at The Other office to torture Head Admin...on her own.
*HUGE SIGH*
That's two things in two days, is tomorrow going to bring the third?
I think the only good thing is that I can collect Unemployment, I'm planning on calling them to see if they'll still pay me as I go to school. Closing Time happens at the end of the month, too late to sign up for Summer Classes, but maybe it can turn around in my favor and I'll still be able to attend somehow...
So now I wait.

This is what I get for lying
*groan*
Daddy wanted Little Daddy to come with us to the races since he's never been. I had already said I wasn't going to bring Little Man because it was a night event...I lied to my boss and told him that Little Man didn't have school today...so I woke up to Little Man and Little Daddy playing nicely. And then Daddy went to go help someone with their car and their true colors came out, they are driving me nuts. I came to Friend's house right now because we're going to take the kids somewhere and let them burn some steam off and hopefully crash into a three hour nap...
I kinda wish I was at work.
I already called Daddy and told him I was about to drop Little Daddy off wherever he was and I was going to take Little Man to my sister (who is babysitting tonight) and I was going to run away. Far, far away.
Well, Happy Easter to you all that celebrate it.
May your Easter egg hunts go without disaster, and make sure you put clothes that take the grass stains like a soldier.
*OH! A complaint: Little Daddy's mother has already called three times to ask if we bought him this one pair of sneakers that she 'couldn't' buy him...you know because her drug dealer boyfriend never has money, and she uses her welfare for drugs....I swear I swear I SWEAR I could kill her. Here we are struggling to stay afloat while she gets handouts all over the place and the child support that Daddy pays apparently never goes to the kid anyway....ugh. Mind you we bought the sneakers last night, and we actually caught them on sale.
I need a nap.

Really? For EASTER?
the event was SNOWED OUT.
Really, there is about 7 inches of snow in the town we were going to, and according to nice Mr. John Something it doesn't look like it's going to melt by tomorrow. It didn't snow for Christmas but it snowed for Easter....hmmmm.
Daddy is bummed. But that means we may head home to NYC for a get-together two of our friends are hosting...I mean, I already have the babysitter lined up, why cancel, right?

It's that time of year again.
Racing Season. I've been avoiding the inevitable, but this Friday marks opening day in New Hampshire, and Daddy wants to be there when the doors open.
*sigh*
I'm arranging for a babysitter because the events start at five and won't end till about ten, and I'm not having my boy sit outside in the cold (I don't care how nice it is, once the sun goes down, it's cold out.) and have him get sick.
But now the good thing is that I can take pics.
Of the trees.
LOL!
Friday...which for the rest of the world is Good Friday...but racing isn't bad for Good Friday is it?
(What I forgot to write yesterday...)
The fact that good luck was written on the permission slip must have tipped them off...when I went to pick him up that day I hesitantly asked how he did. The teacher grinned, "He did great!" I thought she was joking.
She told me that at first he didn't want to sit down, and he was reaching out for the teacher, but then they started bribing him telling him he would get to go out in Daddy's car later (that's all he talks about in school, all his drawings/scribbles are Daddy's car) and that he would see Chuck-E-Rat (we haven't been there since last fall and he still talks about it.) so he sat still for the pictures.
That, and the fact that I wasn't there (I imagine) worked just fine.
You can kind of tell in the pictures that he was like "Hurry up and take the picture this is the most smile you're going to get out of me."
The one with the basket chair, he looks like he was really forcing that one, but I"m very satisfied with the pictures, I just wish they weren't so expensive. ($50 for eight sheets, and only two sheets are wallet sized, one of each pose, so distribution is going to be quite a problem....and to re-order more sheets- WOOOO DOGGY! Let's not even get into that...)

Oops- who left the window open?

I'm taking offers for arranged marraiges...if anyone wants to pay a hefty fee for the heart of my son.
P.S Where the hell did my baby go????? Has anyone seen him, because this grown ass man in these pictures seems to have shipped my baby to Guam and taken his place...
P.P.S- sorry about the flash reflection, I'm still working the kinks on my newly discovered photo taking abilities. Without the flash the pics looked kinda funky...

Incident Reports- what an ugly word!
Zach and Brie's adventures in Daycare 90210 seem to have migrated to the East Coast, and we now have two, TWO incident reports under our belt for Little Man.
In his defense, neither was his fault. Really.
The first one happened a few months ago and I totally forgot to write about it, because i'm a horrible person who starts blogging to write about her son and FORGETS to write about her son.
Ahem.
Well, Little Man and some other child (who they tried to keep 'anonymous' but they forget my son can TALK and knows everyone's names and tells me EVERYTHING!) were playing with the dinosaurs. Apparently Anonymous Boy started to swing his dinosaur and hit Little Man in the face with it. And made him bleed. And cry. So I had to sign an incident report stating that I was aware of the fact that my son had to walk around with an ice pack on his face for an hour and had a small black eye because of the Anonymous Boy's batting practices. Here's the funny part: I am the mother of a toddler. I know kids swing things and throw things and hit people with things (whether on purpose or not...lol!) so I wasn't angry with Anonymous Boy, per se. BUT! I did feel the Mommy Sensors come up, the defense mechanism where someone does something to my child and I get all Incredible Hulk on them and bite their heads off. So, no anger when I signed the Incident Report, but I did give Anonymous Boy the evil eye as I hugged my baby and kissed his boo-boo. All is well with Anonymous Boy.
Friday when I picked my son up, the teacher came to me right away, something she never does. She usually just watches as my son runs to me to show me whatever they did that day...so I knew something was wrong. I was waiting for her to tell me he threw someone off the swing or kicked someone down the slide, but then I saw my son's face. Oh my baby's face. (And don't get upset- I did take a picture, but I stupidly left the camera at home so I can't upload the pics until tomorrow!) Well, when they were walking in from the outdoor playground my son decided he wanted to race his own shadow (come on, he's an only child...) and tripped and fell flat on his face on the cement walkway. Oh boy. Ice packs and antibiotic ointment and another signature on a piece of paper that I imagine will make babies with the other Incident Report...He had scratches from the top of his forehead to the bottom of his chin, lips included. My heart sank, and I wanted to cry but I laughed because he started pointing at his face and saying "Mommy, I fall down outside."
Everyone that saw my son this weekend couldn't hide their reaction when they saw his face. It was that shocked "Oh my GOD! What happened!??" look, and Daddy and I would smile and say "He's Diana's SON what do you expect?" (Have I mentioned what a clutz I am? Be cause I'm a huge one.)
Right now most of the scratches are gone, they were mostly surface scratches, and all that's left is a scab on the bridge of his nose, and a scab on his lip (that he keeps picking at, but imagine how uncomfortable a scab on your lip is...I'd pick at it, too) but at least there will be no scarring. He's had a boo-boo on the same spot on his nose that the scab took like two weeks to fall off last time, but it didn't leave a mark, hopefully we'll be as lucky this time around.
Adventures in Daycare...how fun.

Ummm, no thanks, we'll see them on t.v
$80.
EIGHTY DOLLARS PER PERSON to see these annoying ass human/puppets LIVE!
and that's only the price for tickets in the third balcony section (AKA almost nosebleed seats), not even the floor section which is where all the action is, where the kids have room to jump and dance along. They didn't have prices listed for the floor section, which I guess is better off because the $80 was enough to send me straight to the little red X in the corner...
I called my sister and told her to forget about it, I wasn't going to let her pay that much to take him to a freakin' show...we'll keep them on t.v thanks.

Interesting
Ha.
He's six, and the fact that he's a BOY (read:active and unable to sit still) well, it wasn't going to happen.
The Shitter is in the office (as always) and he does not have children. He is married to a crabby old lady (probably why he's always here bugging me) and they have three cats together, more than enough for them.
The Shitter is trying to entertain the six year old...by giving him Real Estate books to read...
Ha.
The Shitter really asked the kid if he wanted to learn spanish. The kid asked him if HE knew spanish, The Shitter says "No, but I thought you could teach yourself by reading a spanish Real Estate book."
HA.
The kid was going to put a book away, and The Shitter tried telling him where it went, and the kid (like every other kid in the world) couldn't find where it went, The Shitter got all frustrated at the fact that the kid didn't listen the first time, and as he tried to explain to the kid where to put the book you could hear his voice getting a little louder and shaky...
HA!
Right now the kid is sitting quietly in Beantown's office playing on the computer, while The Shitter is probably rocking himself back to sanity in the corner of his own office...
Just plain crazy
Did you all just picture the sheer bloatedness of a two-year olds face when they eat something they are allergic to? Because it's a horrible sight, let me tell you.
At the age of one, because my mother is an old-school mom and doesn't give a shit what docs say ("I gave you peanut butter when you were three months old and you were fine!") my mother gave my son a peanut butter sandwich. And he was fine. I told her never to give it to him again if I wasn't around, or I'd have to kick her in the knees. She might have listened, I'm not sure. I do know she gave him Nutter Butters, (which I love) and still, nothing. So yay! My son wasn't allergic to peanut butter!
Then one day when he was still with the old babysitter, she gave him a cookie when we were walking out, and he seemed to swell a bit after the cookie. I gave him benadryl and he was cleared up in seconds. I called the babysitter to ask her what kind of cookie it was, she said it was a homemade peanut butter cookie.
There was one day I made my son a peanut butter and jelly sandwich because that was what his daddy was eating for lunch, he took one bite and spit it out. He wouldn't eat the sandwich.
Another day we were at my sister's house, and she eats peanut butter off a spoon, something she has done since she was a kid. (Households having peanut butter and no bread to put it on...) My son asked for a lick. We got into the car and headed out for a drive, and in the car my son's head grew three sizes. You already know the phonecalls to the doctor that were made, the quick stop at the pharmacy for benadryl because I wasn't carrying it with me...the waiting for the swelling to go down, the guilt my sister felt. Ten minutes later he was fine, sleeping from being doped up.
So no peanut butter for my son.
But here's the weird thing, he isn't allergic to peanuts, or any nuts for that matter. It must be something IN the peanut butter. My husband was eating a cookie that had walnuts in it, gave the boy a bite (okay like five bites) and then I yelled at him ("Oh, shit I forgot..."), and we watched and nothing happened.
One day one of Daddy's friends gave my son a few peanut M&M's (why do people just hand things to kids???) and when I noticed, the kid had swallowed them before I could take them away. So we watched. And nothing.
I have to remember to ask his doctor about this...for now I will ask you guys if you have gone through this with any allergies with your kids. (I keep forgetting because the only time I talk to the doctor is about an ear infection or puking... yeah, horrible mommy...)

Yes they are gay but they are still MEN!
I went into the bathroom yesterday and saw that the toilet paper roll was empty, with a new roll on top of the EMPTY toilet roll thingie...
only some of the gay men had been in the office at that point...
so even though they are gay, THEY ARE STILL MEN!

Okay, is today Monday or Tuesday?

That's Daddy's car. We call it the Christmas Tree because of the 'different' color scheme it's got going...This is the car that Little Man loves being in. He has literally cried real tears because I don't go and pick him up at daycare with the Tree. Now that I'm only driving the Tree, he is content, though he did make sure to tell me the other day "Mommy, I like your car. But I loooove Daddy's car." Daddy couldn't have been more proud.Friday, March 23, 2007
I got a new toy!!!
I got me a brand spankin' new digital camera!
So you're all going to be flooded with pictures whether you like it or not, because this shiny new toy of mine is going to be over used throughout the summer to catch up with all the stuff I been missing because of my stupid camera phone.
Daddy knows I've been wanting a digital for some time now, and I think he might have felt bad when I told him I was probably the LAST human on earth to not have a digital...so last night (he felt better when I got home from work, yay!) he looks at me and said "You want to go camera shopping?" My eyes must have glazed over, he laughed at me. Everytime we go into a store with digitals I go and lust after them, testing them out, touching them, getting a feel for them. And I always have to put them back down, wipe my drool and walk away because the people start looking at me funny...
I couldn't have packed Little Man's diaper bag any faster.
Into the store we walked, with reinforcements-my Friend, her husband and demon child, and one of Daddy's friends who is an expert at these types of purchases. .P. works building computers and such things so he can get me the scoop on what these greedy salespeople won't tell me. Yes, it became a family affair. You can't make important purchases like this without back-up...
When I finally got MY CAMERA into my hands I knew it was the one. 7.1 megapixels, 10 second video with audio (more with an upgraded memory card) and all this other stuff that is really chinese to me, but .P. tells me are good things. (Hey, if it can take a nice picture, I'm good!) So we look at the box and the paper that tells us everything that comes with the camera and we are satisfied that it is now MY CAMERA!
Of course you know there is a bad side to all of this...
Isn't there always???
The memory card didn't come with the camera.
We had gone to the store at 8:30, just before they closed, so by the time we got home and opened the box (which very clearly says the memory card is INSIDE) and didn't find a memory card, it was too late to go back. So another trip to Best Crooks is in order for when we get out of work today. So I couldn't play with my new toy too much last night, as the camera only holds 3, yes, THREE photos when there is no memory card.
I don't care, really, I know the memory card is a cheap-o that will only hold like fifty photos, but still don't sell me a camera that is SUPPOSED TO INCLUDE IT, and doesn't. I know I was going to buy a new memory card, but I didn't want to have to do it NOW. I wanted to get to know my camers first, buy it dinner, take it for a romantic walk in the park, really get to know it...
Whatever. New toy=happiness in the Stuck household.

Like father like son...again
Last time Little man was sick, he was sick, too.
It's a conspiracy, I tell you. Daddy has a cold, though, and felt his throat hurting him this morning. I called him out of work and told him to keep his behind in bed. Little Man didn't wanna stay home. Says a lot about my house huh? LOL!
Last night I went to Wally World to get some essentials (and vitamin C. I"M NOT GETTING SICK!) and by the time I got home, they were both sound asleep. It was seven o'clock. So now I had no one to cook dinner for, no one to bug me. So I started to wipe the house with Lysol (I AM NOT GETTING SICK!)
Daddy got up to drink some medicine and sat on the (other) couch (away from me I AM NOT GETTING SICK!) to watch some t.v with me. I fell asleep by nine.
Little Man slept through the night, so I couldn't give him any meds last night, so the fun antibiotic was started this morning. I put it in his milk, because it is not flavored and I stupidly forgot to ask the technician to flavor it...even though he should have thought to ask me when he saw the script was for a child. What child actually likes drinking meds?
I didn't really sleep since Daddy kept getting up to blow his nose. The little sleep I got was filled with bad dreams- why is it that when you're dead tired you get the worst dreams that exhaust you even more? (Edited to add- the dream I remember the most was when the girlfriend of a friend went into the bathroom while Daddy was taking a shower because she wanted to see his penis. She asked him if she could take a picture of it. I woke up wanting to kill her...)

I was called an Outstanding Mother...
Last night Little man refused to eat, but not the regular refuse where he wanted something else-not what we were having, he didn't want anything. Yet, right before bed he had such an explosion in his diaper that I had thought he peed out of his butt. Yep, EEEEWWWWWWW. Right into the bathtub, lots of diaper cream and a temp check.
He still got his chocolate milk before bed, and I asked him if he had any boo-boo's. "No, Mommy..." "Does your ear hurt?" "Yeah..." Gotcha.
Morning phonecall to doc, "Bring him in at 10:45!" That girl at the front desk drinks waaaay too much coffee.
I called my sister and asked her to bring him, only because Daddy had massive deliveries to make (it's spring-lots of people working on their cars now!) and I still don't have my car.
Then my son walks into my room with wet pants. Nice.
He got stripped and thrown into the shower with Daddy. There's a nice wet spot on the futon I have to work on later, too. Fun.
Apparently when my sister told the doc that I suspected it was another ear infection (third one this year! And we're only in March!) he looked in his ears, and guess what! I was right! I'm an outstanding mother when it comes to diagnosing ear infections, but not at anything else. Hmph.
More antibiotics to play with.
He went back to daycare, he told my sister he wanted to "go to school and play." Who was she to argue? He wasn't running any fevers so he could go to school...
I used to put my mother through this when I was a kid. Ear infection after strep throat after ear infection....I had tubes put in my ears when I was three or four. I must have passed down the sick gene.

It's nice...but not perfect
Holy hangover batman! There are humans that like me in person!
She is awesome, we've been getting together for the past few months, and I haven't mentioned her because, well, I like her. Usually when I mention someone here is because I don't like 'em. (Much like the agents I love, they get no love here...)
I can't even think of a nickname for her...so she'll just be Friend for now. I met her through her husband, who is friends with Daddy. (Go figure. Couple friends!) They have a two-year-old son! (We may just be twins! LOL!)
Wait for it- this is Daddy's wet dream- she works in an auto parts store. She likes cars like me (well, maybe more than me) and she is funny.
So you may already be wondering why she is being mentioned here today...
And please don't stone me for this-
I don't like her son.
*ducking*
Their situation is different, where her hubby stays home with the baby. He had had an accident at his job that caused him to lose vision in one eye, so she works at the parts store and they don't have to pay daycare because hubby is there.(Oh, the good life, LOL!) So, granted, the kid is attached to his daddy, what boy really isn't, right? The thing that I don't like about the boy is that he is not disciplined. He hits, he throws things, he is just generally the complete opposite of my son. 'Normal two year old behavior' I have heard from other people, but I'm not the only one who thinks this little boy is out of control, others have said it. THEY have said it, Friend and her hubby, but they laugh about it. (Well, they used to. Now they're getting a little worried.)
We were at their house yesterday, and I couldn't tell you how many times I had to go get my son away from the other kid...I don't want my son to start picking up on some things this boy does.
So I don't want to give up actual real-life friends who we love just because of their son's behavior..................
WHAT WOULD YOU DO?
***Edited to add: Yeah, I know two year olds are two year olds, and I'm not implying that my son is an angel. It's just that this kid is like the devil incarnate. He makes my son LOOK like an angel...

The push I needed?
We're still waiting.
I think that he chose to lay her off instead of me because I have a child. She is a single 21-year-old who lives with her mother. Head Admin owns her home and has a car note. Priorities.
On Friday when he came to drop off my paycheck, he was scribbling something in his appointment book and casually (???) mentioned "You better hope this market picks up soon..." then he closed his book and walked out.
He left me with my eyebrows raised and my heart going a thousand beats a second.
I know I've been paranoid in the past about losing my job, but now he's just down to me and Head Admin. Head Admin has been with him since he bought the company four or five years ago, and he worked with her at the previous office, so he has history with her. And she knows how to do a lot more than I do, which they have taught me some stuff here and there but nothing to guarrantee my job.
I don't mind.
Maybe this is the kick in the pants I need to get me to actually enroll in school and get a degree in something a little more stable. I was talking to Daddy about it, and I mentioned how my father had offered to pay for any classes I wanted to take, wherever, as long as I wasn't answering someone's phone for a living. Daddy's eyebrows raised, mine were already up high (I don't think they came down since my bossman said that comment...).
"So maybe I'll go to school full time."
He made that "Why not?" face with a shrug of the shoulders. How great our communication is...
So today I will be researching schools for getting into something medical. Even if I just take a certificate course and become a medical assistant for now, so I won't be out of work for too long. (Nine months? and I could probably do something part time?)
We'll see where this road takes us.
I hope my bossman doesn't take it too hard if he does come to give me the "I'm closing the office" speech and I cheer instead of cry...

Some stuff...---
- Melissa asked me how the pic day went. I wasn't going to say anything yet, i wanted to scan the pics and post 'em here, but as far as I hear from the director herself: "Did you know your son is such a ham???" Apparently he behaves for photographers if mommy or daddy aren't around. He wasn't too much into the smiling thing at first, he just sat there, but then they mentioned the Chuck-E-Rat and Daddy's car and that was enough for him to let them count his teeth if they wanted. All smiles, sat still long enough for more than one photo to be taken. That's gonna hurt my wallet...I can't turn down a good pic...
- Bossman came in at 11 and told me "You're going home at 12 today. It's going to get really bad." He sat here with me for the 11th hour, waiting to see how it got, the snow wasn't sticking so he said we would see how the day went, then he'll call to send us home. As soon as he left the snow started falling harder and now it's sticking. And he hasn't called to say we're going home. The Shitter came in five minutes ago and asked me if I was going home. "I have no idea." I said. "Today seems like it's bad, it's a good day to head home and settle in." Okay, so why are YOU here? I wanted to ask. I just looked at my screen in silence and nodded.
- I'm addicted to this game called Zuma. It's on Pogo.com, and I can't get past level 3-4 (4 parts to each level). Is there anyone else who plays this game? How far have you gotten? Did you find it as addicting as I did? I don't know what I'm going to do all weekend without being able to play it...
Edited to add: GOING HOME! Bossman is out on the road, says it's getting horrible so he doesn't want us getting stuck or into accidents...Have a great weekend guys, and for those in this storm, be safe, 'kay?
Oh, yeah, and THe Shitter is STILL here, apparently waiting for me to leave first...hmmmm.
HaHA Very funny...bring the sun back now please...
It hasn't snowed all winter here, and after three days of beautiful glorious sunshine and high fifties weather...we plummet down to the 30's and get SNOW.
SNOW!
Do you New Englanders believe this shit???
I mean I know we should be used to crazy weather like this, but this is just getting ridiculous.
Tuesday morning I ran into the bathroom while Daddy was taking a shower (why wait till he gets out? this was important!) to tell him the idiotic weatherman was predicting SNOW for the weekend! INCHES of SNOW! How stupid that man is! We both thought it was hilarious. I didn't tell Little Man about the 'snowman' (as he calls it) because I didn't want to get his hopes up for no reason. Besides, it wasn' t going to snow, psssshhhh, please.
This morning I got out the shower (I hadn't looked outside, why bother? it wasn't snowing!) and turned on the t.v only to hear the crazy weatherman say "We're looking at a few inches gathering today..."
Inches of what? Sunshine?
I look outside and wouldn't you know, it WAS snowing. Hard, too.
No one is more excited than Little Man.
I want to speak to mother Nature, we have a couple of issues to discuss here...

Good luck, man.
Ha. They don't know what they're in for with my son.
My sister and I have bets on how much of his face will actually come out IN the picture, because he'll be too busy trying to get off the chair and escape the wrath of the evil camera.
My sister says all they'll catch is a blurry shot of his forehead...
I say they'll get a shot of his rear end as he runs out the door.
Daddy just smiles and shakes his head.
Little Man loves taking pictures, but only if he wants to. Christmas pictures were almost a disaster, we had to settle on the first shot taken because it was the ONLY shot taken. He started crying right after, and if we had continued with the session we would have ended up with lots of pictures of a red faced Little Man reaching for his mommy and daddy, crying like we had abandoned him.
On the permission slip we had to sign for the pictures to be taken there was a section that said 'Comments for photographer:_____________'...I wrote in Good Luck! with a smilie face. I'm hoping the smilie face makes the photographer feel a little better, but he/she can never say I didn't warn him/her.
I can't wait to hear how he did...

She must know when I haven't slept...
Did you receive an e-mail from Bossman last Thursday?
No, Bossman doesn't send me the e-mails he sends to the agents, it's just for you guys.
So you didn't get an e-mail?
...No...
Well, I got an e-mail from him and I couldn't open it.
Oh, I'm sorry. Did you want me to call him and ask him to send it again? (See, I'm trying to be nice...)
No, no that's fine. Do you think you can come into my office and open it?
...What makes you think the e-mail would open for me? What would I do differently to get it to open?
Well, what if I forward it to you? Do you think you could open it?
Stoopid, again...if it didn't open for you what makes you think it will open for me? He might have not done something right, or the attachment is broken, I can call him and ask him to send it again.
No, no I'm leaving anyway...
(ten minutes later, she is still in the office, The Shitter walks in.)
Shitter, did you get the e-mail from the bossman?
Yes, but I couldn't open it.
What did you do to get it to open.
I called him and asked him to send it again...
Sometimes The Shitter can be helpful.

A Phonecall
"Daddy"
"Your son stinks."
"..."
"He gave me two very loaded diapers. Stunk up the whole house."
"(laughing) He does take after you, doesn't he?"
"Stinks!"
"(more laughing)"
Little Man gets on the phone.
"Mommy! I drink Daddy's juice."
"Oh, yeah? What are you doing?"
"Playing."
"With cars?"
"No. With Daddy. On the couch."
"You having fun?"
"Yesssssss. (I hear Daddy in the backround) Mommy! I love you!"
"Oh, baby, i love you too! Gimme kisses."
"(smooching into the phone) Talk to Daddy, bye Mommy!"
"Are you guys going out?"
"Na, we're fine in here."
"Has he been coughing?"
"Nope. He had lunch, ate almost all of it, too. He's fine."
"Hmph. whatever."
"See you later."
"BYE!"
Does he only get sick around me??????
I always get the graveyard shift.
Hmmmm. That's weird.
I couldn't go back to sleep, I was wondering where the coughing came from. I listened for wheezing...none coming from either. No stuffy nose sounds. No congestion sounds. No moving around uncomfortably.
Hmmmmm.
So I started racking my brain, thinking I was just going crazy, and then thinking on how much my floors needed cleaning, and then how much I hate daylight savings time because it screws everything up. Like my sleeping. And my son's sleeping. I get abck to sleep maybe an hour or so later.
Only to wake up to hear that ninety year old man again. I get up, neither of the men next to me seemed to have moved at all, and surely that coughing would have sent somene into some kind of convulsions, that was no ordinary coughing.
Then my son coughs. Hard. His lungs must have been killing him...this time the coughing didn't stop. He kind of gagged so I scooped him up and went into the bathroom. If he's going to be throwing up mucus, it's going to be on a floor I can clean easily. No throwing up mucus, but there was still coughing. I grabbed water from the fridge and offered it to him.
"No, Mommy."
I grab a juice and a Triaminic strip. He hates those strips, but it's the easiest way I can get any medicine into his system. The only way he ate the strip was with promises of him being able to eat a gummy (his vitamins) afterward...and with Daddy standing there with a no-funny business look on his face...
We camped out in the bathroom for another half an hour (the last time I gave him the strip he threw up all over the living room floor. He doesn't take well to medicine. He gets that from his momma.) before going back to bed.
He wouldn't go back to sleep. "More juice?" "Mommy, love you." "Daddy sleeping?"
At six-thirty he finally started nodding off, Daddy turned to me and said "Get some sleep, I'll stay home with him today."
Some sleep?
The alarm went off five minutes later...

Total embarrasment for me- I'm never going on that hill AGAIN!
Daddy's car is stick shift, the soon-to-be-my-new-car is, too, which I don't mind but I'm used to driving automatics and my stick shift skills have been lacking lately. Let's put it this way: thank God Daddy had put a brand new clutch in his car, because I would have burned his old one by now. I get nervous taking off in first, especially when I'm on a slight incline, because the assholes here like to stop two inches from your bumper at a light, I'm afraid of backing into someone so I rev it up nice before I take off...
Daddy (and I swear he did this on purpose) took the looong way to Chu's house, taking the street that even in an automatic car I hate, because even that rolls back at the light at the top of the hill. So of course, the light turnes red when we are halfway up the hill. I see Daddy looking at me through his rearview, and I stick my middle finger up at him. Then I look in my rearview and the asshole behind me (you guessed it) stops so close to me I can't see more than half of his hood. Fuck, I'm going to hit this guy, FUCK! Daddy is still looking at me, but now he knows what I'm thinking. I want to hit Daddy.
The light turns green, I let Daddy get ahead of me by a lot, and then I screech the tires taking off, the guy can clearly see that the car is stick...
We get caught at the light again, this time Daddy is the first car, and the asshole behind me again stops right on my ass. AAAARRRGGGGHHHHHHH! I send him a couple of Fuck you's mentally, because my son the parrott is in the back seat...The light turns green, Daddy takes off. (Fucking experts...) I wait a few seconds before taking off and the car ends up shutting off on me. "FUCK!" I'm screaming now, because I'm pissed off and embarrassed, turn the car back on and take off, screeching tires the whole time. I left tire marks for a good twenty feet. When I catch up to Daddy I'm motioning a few more birds at him and trying not to hit him with his own car...when we get to Chu's house I get out and start screaming at him "You did that on purpose! You know I avoid hills at all costs! Why would you do that???" He is laughing. The nerve of him. "Diana, you have to get used to it if you want the stick shift car..."
Screw that. I don't want the car. Get me my automatic back, please.

They'll take your soul!
Enter Soul Sucking Gym: you see every machine being used and lots of people in red shirts (employees) floating around watching people here and there. As soon as we walked in we were bombarded by three people in red shirts asking us if we needed any help. Good customer service? No, they saw we weren't dressed in gym attire (we were both still in work clothes) and carrying no duffel bags, so we must be FRESH MEAT! GET THEM TO SIGN THEIR LIVES AWAY NOW! QUICK GET THE FORMS! When my friend said she was changing her membership, the red shirted employess disappeared into thin air. Really, suddenly we were standing there alone. Five full minutes later a black-and-red shirted employee (manager?) came to us and asked us to follow him into a 'private' room. I looked at my friend, she just shrugged. We were led into a small, smelly room with glass walls and two chairs that I really didn't want to sit in. The sweat smell was over-bearing, making my once hungry stomach feel queasy. The black-and-red shirted man started asking her why she wanted to change her membership. She explained, in very simple and easy to understand terms- but that she and her husband wanted to stay on. They went regularly. He turns to me "So you're going to keep coming with her then?" I smiled as nicely as possible and said "She just said she and her husband, I am not him. I'm just here to keep her company." Dummy. He turns back to her and asked her the situation again. I thought she has said it pretty clearly the first time. He turns to the computer and starts clicking away on the keyboard. He starts telling her about two-year contracts and having to put $193 per person down for a new plan. She looks at me, eyes wide. I'm sure mine looked like dinner plates, too. "I don't want a new plan, I just want to take three people OFF my plan." He looks back at me "Well, you're going to keep coming aren't you?"
crickets.
This guy is a fucking genious.
"I'm not a member here. This is for her and her husband."
"Oh, well, why don't you sign up? We can come up with a great plan for you..."
"We're not here for me, we're here to take care of her business." I felt like covering my neck, afraid he was going to suck my blood that very second.
Back to her: "I see you're on a month-to-month plan, why don't you sign up for a two year contract? we can give you a deal."
"I may not be in this state for two more years, I don't want to get into something I can't get out of, so the month-to-month works just fine for us."
"Oh, if you move away from here, and you move further than fifteen miles away from another Soul Sucking Gym, we can terminate your contract. Where will you be moving?"
"Dominican Republic."
"Oh, that's no problem, all you have to do is bring in your one-way ticket and we can terminate the contract with no problem, but not before 18 months." I'm shaking my head at this point, these people are ridiculous. A one-way plane ticket? Is that a joke?
"Look, all I want to do is take three people off my plan and stay month-to-month. If you can't do that, then terminate everything now."
Puzzled look on the black-and-red shirted guy.
Three phonecalls, visits from two other managers AND her personal trainer, and more clicking away at the keyboard, they finally figured out what she really wanted to do.
An hour and a half later we were on our way to pick food up for the husbands and sons, who were calling to see what the hell happened to us. (They were together at the house...)
Remind me to just invest in a treadmill or bike at home, it will be cheaper than these soul-suckers. And if two months later I just want to pack the things up and throw them in the basement, i won't have a red-shirted employee there asking me to show him a one-way plane ticket...
Geez.
Any horror gym stories from ya'll?

Boycotting
I can't take it.
Every night for dinner it is a fight with him to eat anything, and while he is eating just fine in daycare...*sigh*
Last night I made him cry because I told him he couldn't have any juice until he finished at least half of his dinner. I became my mother the moment the sentence came out of my mouth. I used to do this to her, fill up on liquids and not eat my food. My mother used to cry and beg me to eat and then threaten to take me to the hospital and have me put on a feeding tube.
Two hours it took for him to finally grab his plate and choke down some potatoes and meat (which he usually loves). He showed his plate to Daddy who gave him some juice.
This is usually only during dinner time, for breakfast he is starving (because he won't eat dinner) so he gobbles it up quickly. Lunch he does okay with, I've noticed he is starting to do the same for lunch sometimes...
Is my food gross now? Is there something I can give him to substitute? I know Mamaof2 went through this with her son recently, and I see why she was so concerned. And my son is only TWO! I give him Flintstone vitamins in the mornings just to make sure he's getting his essential vitamins, but he still needs ACTUAL SOLID FOOD in his system...
I swear the other night I gave him cereal for dinner just because i knew he would eat it without a problem, but I don't want to do that every day...unless i have to of course...

Baby Steps.
Thursday night he was back home, but he slept on the couch. There was still minimal talking, and I wasn't going to take the first step. (Yes, stubborn, I know.) Little Man woke up Friday morning and saw him on the couch and went to lay with him.
Friday we spoke. He admits he overreacted and he came back to our room. Little Man was happy to see him when he woke up. Friday after work, we spoke more. We went to his mother's house to pick up his clothes, and as I was speaking to her behind her closed bedroom door she got a frantic phonecall from Selfless. Drama was happening at Selfish's house (the apartment above mine) and we had to get there ASAP. Without getting into too many details, police were called and we ended up packing some of Selfish's stuff (and the girls') and she went to stay at their mother's. Daddy didn't say a word the whole way home, but he held my hand. I think seeing what was going on with my SIL and her husband put more things in perspective for him. Daddy is not a talker, he doesn't verbalize what he is feeling, which is hard but I know him so well I understand his actions. He needs to change that a bit, I told him that. Just a bit. Just enough to not get us into a big enough fight that he feels he can't be home.
Saturday we went to Googlio and Skinny Bitch's baby shower, where everyone (well, the few people who knew about the sitch) was breathing a sigh of relief seeing us together...and smiling. Oh, except for The Whore of course, because I'm sure she was overly happy to hear that we were fighting. (You know, because Selfless STILL is overly friendly with her. UGH.) Really, you should have seen her face she was so upset. I loved it, it made me smile more. Stupid Whore, worry about your own life, thank you. And yes, the stupid Whore was at the baby shower, double UGH. She was there with her twelve year old boyfriend (he looks twelve, seriously. The BOY is 18 though! Still a baby himself!)
Sunday we went car hunting. I might have found something. But I don't want to get all excited about it yet. Not until it's parked in my driveway.
That's that.
Baby steps.

Stupid me...
Today I reached for my purse so I could eat the other bar...
I left my purse at home.
And now all I can think about is how much I really want that damn chocolate...
I'll take Migraines for $800, Alex.
Now it's nosebleeds.
All of a sudden my nose leaks, with no warning, and I'm standing there scaring the hell out of whoever is with me.
The other day (you know, when Daddy and I were still getting along just fine...) I had gone to my sister's house at my son's request. My mother was there so he got to see his beloveds all at the same time. I got a phonecall from a friend asking for my address so he could send us an invitation to his daughter's birthday party, and while I was on the phone I felt like my nose was running. Knowing that I have had no sinus issues in the last month or so, I found this weird and went to pass my fingers under my nose...and they came back red. My heart stopped. I hung up the phone and went into the bathroom where I find that my nose was starting to pour out blood. (Am I totally grossing you out here? You don't have to read if you don't want to...I will understand.) So I grab tissue and try to remember if it's head up or head down to stop bleeding...which I never knew the answer to because when you ask someone they really never know either...
My sister sees me and the now soaked tissue and hurries into the bathroom to get me more, asking me if I fell or something. "Uh, with my fat ass you would have heard me fall. Or at least swear because I fell. Dummy." Then my mother gets involved, and she's no good in any situation, let alone one with blood involved, so she starts panicking that I had to go to the hospital right that instant. "It's just a nosebleed, MOTHER, I'm not going to sit in an ER for eight hours..." And then I passed a huge clot (I think it was a clot, it looked more like a bloody booger just REALLY big...really I'm sorry to gross you out...) and it just stopped.
For the record, I have never actually had a nosebleed in my life.
Yesterday morning, the same thing happened. Same way, just came all of a sudden, passed another clot, and it stopped.
Now I'm wondering what the hell is going on. My sister in law suggested stress, but then decided I should just go get checked since I get so many migraines and now this, so she chucked her stress theory...
I don't know.
Has anyone had any spontaneous nosebleeds? Or should I really just go and get checked? (I hate going to the doc's unless I really really have to...)
As for everything else: same. I don't want to talk about it right now, but nothing has changed anyway...but thank you guys for you thoughts.
