Ah, yes, that third thing...

Have you ever heard that bad things come in threes? Maybe it's my being around superstitious spanish folks, but I've always heard it. I said the other day "When is the third thing cming?" Well, it came yesterday.
Oh my God did it come yesterday. I swear the flood of tears that I shed yesterday should have left me dehydrated and shriveled in a corner...

No more daycare for Little Man.

Three weeks too soon.

Apparently they make you reapply for everything every six months, and I sent the paperwork in but the nice and incompetent social worker didn't process it in time, so my daycare coverage has been terminated. And since the daycare coverage ended A MONTH AGO the bill is up to $1,450...even with my payments, (hell I just dropped them $300 the other day) and the daycare says until the payment is made in full- IN FULL they can't take Little Man.

Three weeks too soon.

So now, even applying for the Unemployment tomorrow I'm going to end up having a gap between checks, and depending solely on Daddy's money and what we have saved in the bank. (Which unfortunately is not $1,400 or I would give it all to the daycare just to keep him for three more weeks.) So I didn't go to work today, and by the looks of it (because I have no one to stay with Little Man even for just these three weeks) I won't be going back...

Oh man this is when shit starts hitting the fan.

Oh, no, Diane. The job thing was kind of expected, but not this.

Karma owes you big time.

When it rains it pours huh?
I wish I was closer cause I would do what I could to help you out.

I guess you will be signing up for unemployment a bit earlier than you thought. As for the social worker perhaps you can go over their head to the supervisor and see what can be done to correct their mistake. I know with the welfare office -- well let's just say I don't hold out alot of hope for that but it couldn't hurt to try.

Good Luck!

I agree with Mama of 2. Just give it a try. At least let the welfare office know that this woman dropped the ball!

And hang on. I know it is hard. And nothing we say will help now, but karma is owed and it will show.

God, that sounds so trite and you are going through so much now. I'm sorry that I can't offer more. Just hang on, okay?

I am so, so, sooooo, very sorry that you are going through this. I wish there was something I could do. I'm not sure when you will be reading this as I think you only had an internet connection at work, but I'm thinking about you and your family.

Oh no, Diana. I'm so sorry all of this stuff is raining down on you all at once. Please do let us know what is going on around there, ok?

I just found your blog for the first time. I realize it doesn't mean much coming from someone you don't know at all, but I'm sending you all my good thoughts.
