Seriously, like there is a bomb IN MY HEAD. I was told on Friday that I would not have to work today. So this morning I'm lounging on my bed with Little Man (who slept in his crib all night thank you very much!) and Daddy (who like everyone else in the world has the day off) when my phone rings. Groan from me, I already know who it is. Long story short (and with out all the yelling I was doing in the shower and as I was dressing) I come into work. When I get here at 10:30 they call me again.
"Oh we were going to tell you to forget it, we might be leaving at 12."
My muscles tense, there is LITERALLY smoke coming out of my ears.
"You're kidding me right? RIGHT?"
"No it's really slow, but now that you're in we'll just call you and let you know if you can leave at twelve,"
I just hung up the phone.
Seriously,
this is going to be me.
My New Year's post will wait until either after twelve (
) or tomorrow...

WTF is it with bosses that think their employees are toys that they can play with like that. Mine are unfortunately no better. I work a 10 - 12 hour day and am told, I am a "slacker"
I got to leave at ONE. My two-and-a-half hour work day was SOOOO busy! (NOT!)
They better pay me for the full day...it was stupid just being there for so little time.
Hey, slacker Jay, why not just bring a sleeping bag to work and crash on the floor? Perhaps they would be happier... (I was always telling my old boss I was going to do that.)
I can not threaten that where I am currently, because they will probably expect me to actually DO it.
One woman at our weekly staff meeting this week said she was going to be taking a couple of days off mid January to be with her son before he went back to school. My bosses reply? "Is there anyone else that Nights and Weekends isn't enough with their family?"
Wait- I've got another. The Head Admin. who works primarily out of the Other Office once said "Can't someone else take him?" when I told her I had to leave because my son had a fever of 102 and I was going to the doc! NO! I AM HIS MOTHER!
Your boss and my Head Admin. must be related...
